View Full Version : Do you find power sexy?
Haydon 19-02-2006, 09:23 PM Some would say that Sir Alan Sugar is a powerful man - not in the muscle stakes but with regards to business acumen and the amount of money he has. I remember after the last Apprentice series he was being interviewed and it was said that he had quite a big female following.
If you're female, do you find Sir Alan sexy because of his 'power'? Or do you just find him attractive anyway?
Dolores 19-02-2006, 09:28 PM I don't find power sexy ... but I do find confidence (not cockiness) sexy.
I think Sir Alan has a certain appeal (did you notice that Tim kept calling him that ... do you think Sir Alan insists on it!), but don't find him cor blimey sexy, although he has a certain earthiness that I find attractive, and which I would like whether he was a multi-millionnaire or a roadsweeper.
mazwad 19-02-2006, 09:29 PM Are you fishing here Haydon to see if we find you sexy being Haydon the all powerful.
To answer the question yes I find a powerful man quite sexy but not if he is too arrogant and there is something about Sir Alan Sugar as he is not that all that in the looks stakes it must be the power.
I don't find Sir Alan sexy at all, so I guess I would have to say, that I don't find power sexy in a man. Nice forearms does it for me! :naughty:
No. I think that a lot of powerful men lose the ability to reason and don't know the meaning of give and take.
It's because they are used to getting exactly what they want and don't like going back on a decission even if they realise after that they are wrong.
Northern angel 19-02-2006, 11:30 PM I have a serious dislike of anyone who comes across as being too harsh. The most powerful attribute a man can have is persuasion combined with consideration. The two together are very sexy, and the man that has it in abundance will have women eating out of his hand. (Strawberrys and cream from parts of his anatomy.)
Alan sugar doesn't do it for me. Talk to me about David Semen.mm

Still a power thing though isn't it? - powerful arms as opposed to powerful personality?
In my travels I have come to the conclusion that many women have a desire for power themselves, although I'm not sure if that makes them attracted to power in a man, or the opposite.
I have also known women who are somewhat meek and who have a dominating husband, presumably one attracts the other as a kind of compensation? Not sure if the combination works in the long run though, especially if the woman begins to develop her own personality.
One thought for any 'normal??' woman who is attracted to a powerful type like Sugar - try living with him for a year and see if you still find it attractive.
Seabreeze 20-02-2006, 10:31 AM I don`t find Sir Alan sexy at all but he does have a presence about him. I like the fact that he says what he thinks. I watched the American series a little and Donald Trump just does not that that presence about him, nor do I fins him sexy. I can`t think offhand of anyone with power that I find sexy.
Bonsai 20-02-2006, 12:34 PM I dont watch the Apprentice so i dont know about Alan Sugar, but i do indeed find power sexy.
I think i have always had minor crushes on my bosses - and not because they are good looking but because they own the business which is quite appealing. The crush normally dissapears as fast as it began though  .
Patsy 20-02-2006, 12:58 PM Alan sugar doesn't do it for me. Talk to me about David Semen.mm
I thought this was a spelling mistake, Mo, but now I think you probably meant it!
floopy 20-02-2006, 04:49 PM Power in itself is not sexy, no, but the kind of person who achieves great power tends also to posess the attributes which are sexy; intelligence, charisma, determination, ruthlessness etc.
Alan Sugar is not one of those people though IMO :minger:
Patsy 20-02-2006, 04:59 PM I, personally, would find a bag of sugar more sexy than Srallan.
Confidence is sexy.
Confidence is sexy.I agree but arrogance is not!
I find power full men attractive.
But then again I find something attractive in most men so throw in a few million and after a time, well a few times anyway, good things may come to pass.
Fee For All 20-02-2006, 07:09 PM I don't find power sexy, but I do find it attractive in a sort of so-you-think-you're-tough-enough sort of a way :boxing:
So Sir Alan would do nothing for me horizontally, but I'd love the chance to go head-to-head with him.

Hello survivorfan,
Of the women I know who are married to domineering men as opposed to a powerful and charismatic men. They seem rather timid and less confident about themselves, almost as if some personality change has taken place from the point of getting married, having children and puting on wieght.
One woman in particular comes to my mind here in relation to her job. She is a nurse and when she originally took the job on she had told her husband she had no male colleagues or no contact with males in other departments. This was a lie, but the reason for the lie is that her husband is not only a domineering man but a very jealous one, so much so, that she has never been allowed out of the house to go out for drinks with the girls, or to take an all girls holiday. Recently, I heard that she wants to join a slimming group but her husband insisted on going with her, just to confirm there were no male members. She at present is depressed and weighs in at 17 stone and because of a back injury at work has been advised to lose some weight so she can have surgery.
This is an isolated case and I personnally think its a travesty of a marriage.

Hello Patsy,
I do find football players and some rugby players very attractive, Strength and health, as opposed to power is very nice. I have been watching Dancing on Ice and feel a certain warmth watching David Semen skate. (I think this is the correct spelling for his name.)

Coastie 21-02-2006, 08:01 AM I find passion sexy...not so much power...take for example Gordon Ramsey...he really isn't much to look at and well he is also blonde (not a bonus IMO)...yet I find him incredibly sexy simply because he is so passionate about what he does...
I haven't had a full on Sir Alan experience yet but will be looking to view him in action during this series of the Apprentice...I don't really like beards and he doesn't have particularly nice eyes so he doesn't have alot going for him for me at this time...I will keep you posted!
JakeyBoy 21-02-2006, 08:02 AM Elizabeth Montgomery had power on Bewitched, and I think that's pretty cool... but not so far as sexy...
survivorfan 21-02-2006, 12:39 PM I think if I saw Semen on the ice rink I'd ask for my money back.
Patsy 21-02-2006, 12:40 PM I do like a man with big hands.

MariaRob 23-02-2006, 03:44 PM Sir AS does nothing for me, that wrinkled squashed up face and the constant air of irritation is not sexy. I think Richard Branson is quite sexy.

Oooh RB is sexy...not so much to look at but such a nice chap...very freindly when you meet him, always smiling and looking on the positive side of life...cracking!
I think if I saw Semen on the ice rink I'd ask for my money back.
Without reading Mo's response - I was with you 100%!!!
However I want to back both Fee's and Coasties remarks on power and passion - a guy that has 'it' does it for me regardless [well not strictly true as Roy from Corrie probably has it - but that leaves me a bit bewildered]
flipbrit 23-02-2006, 10:10 PM Amen to that, Branson also takes care of his staff, his companies reflect that, I feel just because you have all the money in the world allows you to be a real ****!
