View Full Version : Some Clever Clogs has a theory about Lost
Critique 20-02-2006, 12:58 PM Don't go to this site if you don't want spoilers because it mentions happenings in both the first and second series episodes.
It's very long and quite complex but I think Jakey, in particular, might like to get his brain round it.
http://www.4815162342.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7712
Aondeag 20-02-2006, 01:01 PM I'll have to study that.It looks fascinating...
have to say..it's like a gazillion million times more elaborate than my theory.
JakeyBoy 20-02-2006, 11:03 PM OK, I'll check it out!
JakeyBoy 20-02-2006, 11:17 PM That is a really good theory! It didn't give too much away, I could handle it!
Let us discuss this theory into more depth, shall we?
Critique 20-02-2006, 11:26 PM That is a really good theory! It didn't give too much away, I could handle it!
Let us discuss this theory into more depth, shall we?
Sorry Jakey but it was way over my head, apart from the obvious things about the electromagnetic fields that we suspected from the beginning.
It was cleverly thought out and could be pretty accurate I reckon (what I understood of it)
JakeyBoy 20-02-2006, 11:39 PM Yeah, very accurate!
Aondeag 21-02-2006, 09:29 AM It's all very 'techy' tho'...isn't it.The public can't really handle stuff like that in an entertainment programme.
Also..in the very first LOST there was a guy sucked right into the engine....and burnt to a crisp.Would they sacrifice someone just purely for show?
Also..they were wearing the same clothes...so if they have been put in 'suspended animation' for ages and ages..well....their clotehs would be absolutely gammy...I would imagine.
A bit more threadbare, whereas now they just look like clothes that have seen better days.Which obvioulsy they have.
OOH it's all very intriquing!
I hope that theory doe'snt come true tho'.
I want something a bit more 'human'..
But that's just me.
wooooooooooooooooo.
JakeyBoy 21-02-2006, 11:25 AM Yeah, it IS made for an American audience :bag:
It is very complex but it is Lost! And yes, I think they would suck a guy into an engine just for show, it's the others ain't it???
And if they were suspended in animation, doesn't that mean they're basically frozen in mid air? Because then they're clothes wouldn't look any different
Aondeag 21-02-2006, 12:01 PM ooh..i was thinking 'cryogenic suspension'...but i did'nt put it as i can't spell it.
I thought it was the suspension where they put you in vats of gloopy stuff and you stay alive but suspended...for ages!
Hmmmm
But they don't seem to have altered tooo much since the plane crash.
I dunno...
i'm not sure if 'the others' are that advanced.Their boat was all rickety and rusty, and their weapons are just basic.
But I don't know..and I can't wait to find out!
Do you remember the ........oooh can't say it yet as it has'nt aired yet...
(Crit will have heard about it)
but they had a **** , and some people were on it and some were not.
:-O
JakeyBoy 22-02-2006, 04:44 AM Stop it!
Aondeag 22-02-2006, 09:50 AM Hee..NO!.....
JakeyBoy 22-02-2006, 09:54 AM lol Grrrr...
You'll make me cry :(
So what episode are you up to?
Aondeag 22-02-2006, 09:55 AM Found you!
I've downloaded up to episode 12...with a little help from my friends.
But i'm also watching it on telly monday nites..new series is up to episode 4.
Yay!
How bout you?
JakeyBoy 22-02-2006, 09:57 AM I know, I suck at Hide-And-Seek
We've had three episodes with number four tomorrow night.
I've been watching some clues on the channel 7 website, makes you think a little bit. Not clues that we haven't discussed though...
http://www.yahoo7.com.au/lost
Aondeag 22-02-2006, 09:59 AM I've just been using my own brain for theories..and discussing it with others'...
(aargh..OTHERS....I mean other people around me!)
LOL...so i guess that's why our theories are probably gonna be waaaaaaaaaaaaaay off!
Ah well.
JakeyBoy 22-02-2006, 10:02 AM That's so weird... get away from me you... you, OTHER!
Aondeag 22-02-2006, 12:02 PM OH yes..you know that fancy theory that the clever clogs had...the hight tech explaination...suspended animation...blah blah...
well....what about the SOS message that was sent by the french chick...in the first series?
It was 17 years old!
Does that mean that the LOST people...jack and company, have been in suspended animation for 17 years????
Aaargh..this is wrecking my head!
JakeyBoy 23-02-2006, 04:39 AM It could be... That brings up a good point which I think is true
Aondeag 23-02-2006, 09:02 AM The french chick actually looks like she has been marooned there for 17 years.
What with her weapons and her hide out and stuff.
She looks like she has learned to survive by herself for a very long time.
Clan of the cave bear!
HEY..maybe the writers will cotton on to the 'clever clogs' theory, and they will develop their endings based on that!
What a cop out!!!!
I hope that does not happen.
'Play your own kind of music....da da'
I LOVED that music they opened the 2nd series with!
Hee...
maybe that's a clue too...what era was THAT from.
JakeyBoy 23-02-2006, 09:39 AM Ooo yes, what's the song called?
Aondeag 23-02-2006, 09:46 AM I don't know. But it sounds like it was from the 60's or something.
That reminds me...Desmond seemed to have old fashioned LP's and proper records...he seemed to have quite a collection, inherited from his predecessor. So maybe that's a clue.
If I were the LOST people..I'd be in there playing the records.
Hurley was listening to 'Damien Rice' at the end of one episode...just before his batteries ran out!
JakeyBoy 23-02-2006, 09:48 AM Yeah, he had a pretty good collection and yes, that means that the whole experiment has been going on really long. The video had people that looked like they were from the 60s/70s so that's also a clue
Aondeag 23-02-2006, 09:50 AM UNLESS..they are all a plant/fix and that is designed to throw us off the scent too!
Aaaaaargh...I'm going for a donut....these theories are wrecking my buzz!
:-)
JakeyBoy 23-02-2006, 09:52 AM lol They always throw us off scent but it ends up being what we thought in the beginning!
With sprinkles?
Aondeag 23-02-2006, 09:58 AM Yes...vanilla flavoured with chocolate sprinkles on the top.
Mmmmmmmm.
And a mint flavoured hot chocolate too.The donut shop is just downstairs.
yummers.
Hurley would approve!
JakeyBoy 23-02-2006, 10:00 AM  Hurry up then, Hurley might beat ya!
Aondeag 23-02-2006, 10:03 AM It's well and truely skoffed by now!
Lol...
better luck next time...'Hugo'!
JakeyBoy 23-02-2006, 10:05 AM Yes, Locke calls him Hugo lol
Aondeag 01-03-2006, 10:16 AM Hee...i am after finding a whole load of these...:ghost: little fellers.
I intend to pepper my LOST postings with these!
woooooooooo!:ghost:
for extra spookiness at opportune moments.
Be afraid...VERY afraid!
JakeyBoy 01-03-2006, 10:51 AM I've already got my paper bag incase I hyperventalate (sp?) just like with Andrea's freaky videos
Aondeag 01-03-2006, 11:18 AM I've got my brolly..in case it rains...or i get splashed by the water from..um ...er...the escape raft!
:rain:
(hee..just wanted to use him.)
JakeyBoy 01-03-2006, 11:28 AM Larf! You like those little guys, don't you?
Aondeag 01-03-2006, 01:08 PM I surely do...AND..as Roy Keane says...'all credit toooooooooooo Haydon, like' for sticking em up there.
Haydon and ILS....keeper of the smilies! Yay.
Fee For All 01-03-2006, 06:51 PM I read somewhere recently that the producers of Lost are telling people to read Flann O'Brien's 'The Third Policeman' for clues.
JakeyBoy 02-03-2006, 05:01 AM I read somewhere recently that the producers of Lost are telling people to read Flann O'Brien's 'The Third Policeman' for clues.
*runs to the local library* :book:
Aondeag 03-03-2006, 09:46 AM I read that....ages ago.
It honestly does not ring any LOST bells, but it's a great auld book.
Mite have another flick throuhg it.
Any luck JB?
JakeyBoy 03-03-2006, 09:51 AM Our school library didn't have it... :(
Aondeag 03-03-2006, 09:53 AM LOL...i guess they would'nt.
You mite have to go to a bookshop and pick up a copy.
Or maybe your parents have it at home????????
Flann O Brien.....comic genius.
I want to know the LOST connection....all curious now!
JakeyBoy 03-03-2006, 09:54 AM Yeah, I share your curiosity!
Aondeag 03-03-2006, 09:58 AM I will nab a copy of this book at the weekend and go throuhg it with my big yellow highlighter pen.
:yahoo:
watch this space...............:ghost:
JakeyBoy 03-03-2006, 09:59 AM I'll be watching!
Aondeag 03-03-2006, 11:59 AM Just been chatting to this bloke at work..who knows all sorts of things.
He thinks it is VERY probable about the LOST and the Flann o' Brien connection.
He sez it is widely believed that some of the plot for the film 'Silence of the Lambs' was also taken from elements of a Flann O' Brien play.
I have not seen the film so I couldnt really chat about it.
But that is kind of interesting......
JakeyBoy 03-03-2006, 12:04 PM Must be a pretty good book then!
Aondeag 03-03-2006, 12:38 PM He's very funny..and witty.I think so anyway.
but the silence of the lambs plot was from ANOTHER 'FLOB' book or play.
(FLOB..hee...see what I did there!)
JakeyBoy 03-03-2006, 12:49 PM Yes I saw... I've been watching so closely it'd be hard not to
Fee For All 03-03-2006, 01:09 PM Here you go chaps (http://www.blather.net/zeitgeist/archives/2006/02/more_about_lost_and_the_third.html)
Aondeag 03-03-2006, 02:49 PM Hey...FFA.
Fresh Meat in the LOST thread.
:-)
Thanks for that.
JakeyBoy 03-03-2006, 10:35 PM Thanks a lot Fee!
Right that's it ! I'm sick of you going on and on about this book ! So I marched down to the library and demanded they give me a copy. Unfortunately the local library's copy was mysteriously 'lost' so they ordered one from another library. I picked it up yesterday ("Oooh, that's the book that's going to be mentioned in Lost" said the librarian). As soon as I saw the front cover it seemed instantly familair and I got a dreadful sense of dé ja vu. I don't know what you've gotten me into...
That's weird!
Aondeag 06-03-2006, 09:43 AM :-(
I left my Third Policeman in the pub on saturday nite...
have to pop in tonite and collect it.
(any excuse!)
JakeyBoy 06-03-2006, 09:46 AM  Have you started to read it?
Aondeag 06-03-2006, 09:53 AM Kind of...i read it a few years ago...so now i was planning on just flicking,
and hoping something would grab me!
:D
But others had heard about the FLOB/LOST connection too so there are all sorts of cool discussions on the go.
wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.:ghost:
JakeyBoy 06-03-2006, 09:55 AM Well make sure you keep me informed because I am still having no luck in finding the book. And the librarians at school are no help at all and all move really slow and stink of strong perfume... :glare:
Aondeag 06-03-2006, 09:58 AM Praps there mite be tons more stuff available on line somewhere.
Tho' i bet reading the book would be better.
something is bound to click!
Bloody Oscars....no LOST tonite on telly coz of the oscars!
Bah.
JakeyBoy 06-03-2006, 10:02 AM Luckily, Desperate Housewives was on another channel than the Oscars so I was good to go!
Hey, doesn't that mean we'll be up to the same episode then?
Aondeag 06-03-2006, 10:08 AM ooh probably....
what fun!
ahhh...poor Sayid!
Aondeag 07-03-2006, 12:29 PM Got my third policeman back.
yay...such torture tho'...having to pop into a pub on a monday nite!
JakeyBoy 07-03-2006, 12:52 PM Got my third policeman back.
yay...such torture tho'...having to pop into a pub on a monday nite!
*snigger* :D
Aondeag 08-03-2006, 12:05 PM tum tee tum....tick tock..tick tock....
I'm waiting.....hurry up and stop being banned JB....
there's LOST stuff to be getting on with.
Aondeag 08-03-2006, 12:53 PM Right...can't wait anymore...
I watched episode 3 again...AND they are right...
how shall I put this..without giving anything away:
'An leabhair ar an leaba....seomra Desmond'.
!!!!!!! :-O
:ghost:
Fee For All 08-03-2006, 02:22 PM Well, that's ruined it ffor me
Aondeag 08-03-2006, 02:26 PM LOL..you think that's bad...
lucky I did'nt say...'uimher a fiche tri....no uimher a dachad a dó'
that would be just plain mean!
JakeyBoy 11-03-2006, 02:53 AM What language is that???
Critique 11-03-2006, 10:38 AM I've just got the latest episode - 15. Haven't watched it yet. Apparently its all about Clare and the baby
Aondeag 13-03-2006, 08:27 AM ooh claire and the baby...i was wondering what the story was with them.
oooh....have you watched it YET?
Aondeag 13-03-2006, 09:59 AM What language is that???
It was Irish JB...
'an bhfuil tu arais fos'?Are you back yet?
We are discussing episode 14...(which I have not seen yet.)
But I know it's out there.
Critique 13-03-2006, 10:07 AM ooh claire and the baby...i was wondering what the story was with them.
oooh....have you watched it YET?
Yes, I've watched it now :) It was all about what happened when she disappeared. Very interesting :naughty:
Aondeag 13-03-2006, 10:09 AM ooh..does is shed any light?
does it explain anything to us?
do the OTHERS feature?
oooh.
Isn't it exciting.
:-)
Critique 13-03-2006, 10:13 AM ooh..does is shed any light? No not really (not about the whole Lost thing anyway)does it explain anything to us? Not really, just opens up more questions if anything
do the OTHERS feature? Not those "others" but other "others" :)
oooh.
Isn't it exciting. Yes and still very mysterious
:-)
.......................
Aondeag 13-03-2006, 10:20 AM Gawd..I just can't wait.
oooh.:ghost:
Andrea 13-03-2006, 02:41 PM It must be coming back on soon over here?
Aondeag 13-03-2006, 02:46 PM I have no idea.Has it even been hinted at?
Gawd..i could clean up...tape the episodes and send them to NOW magazine or something....for a lovely fee.
It's on tonite...yay.
Critique 13-03-2006, 02:48 PM I'm sure they said "Spring" Andrea but not sure what their definition of Spring is. Also, sorry, I thought I was in the **Spoilers** thread when I posted that stuff. I hope I haven't given anything away.
Aondeag 13-03-2006, 02:49 PM Don't worry Crit..I don't think there is much to give away.
:-)
(and i'm not sure we get too many visitors in here.)
Critique 13-03-2006, 02:52 PM Don't worry Crit..I don't think there is much to give away.
:-)
(and i'm not sure we get too many visitors in here.)
That's true :)
Andrea 13-03-2006, 08:00 PM Yeh, Crit, don't worry.
It's me creeping in here, it is the spoilers thread so i'm well aware of what I could see.
I just can't stop myself:laugh:
But actually you haven't given anything away I don't think.
And if you do, it's my own fault for being in here, so carry on posting.(ooh sounds like a good title for a film!)
Aondeag 14-03-2006, 03:46 PM LOL...
I saw all the 'LEGS' again last nite...it made me laff!
I'm sure they are a clue.
Yes Andrea they said Spring which is in about 4 days!!!!!!!!!
But maybe someone told them it's still snowing over here
has to be before Easter though surely else they would have said returns at easter.
Tigereye 21-03-2006, 03:53 PM ooooh after tonights show, maybe they ARE the others. to the others I mean.
Aondeag 21-03-2006, 04:01 PM I think those others are not really Others...in the true sense of the word.
Just 'extra' others.
oooh....poor sayid! He needs a hug!
Aondeag 24-03-2006, 12:27 PM I know it's just more or less MEEEE in here by myself but I'm gonna post this anyway.
The Third Policeman is really worth reading for LOST type 'sightings'.
It even has the dreaded black smoke...and everything! Wooooo!:ghost:
Critique 24-03-2006, 01:07 PM I don't know if I could be bothered to read it Aondeag - but I don't read much nowadays anyway.
I've just got another episode from USA that aired Wednesday night (S2 Ep16) Haven't watched it yet (just the beginning to make sure it was the right one - looks good, looks like it's about Sun and Jin this week).
Got visitors coming this afternoon so I might not get round to watching it til after the weekend :(
Still no clues as to what/why/where/who though. As I said before, it just seems to have turned into a Soap with a little cameo story each week and only a tiny bit of Island stuff and no answers. There's something about a hot air balloon though :naughty:
Aondeag 24-03-2006, 02:38 PM Lol Crit.At this stage the Third Policeman is a much better bet than LOST.It's waaay more engaging!
I'm up as far as episode 14, and I believe it has taken a break in the States at the mo...but only till March 29.
I really enjoyed the scene when they met 'the Other'...the beardy guy.
He must be their leader.'Did you hear him....'the only reason you are still alive is because WE let you stay alive..and eat OUR food etc'.
wooooooooooooooo!:ghost: No messin with HIM!
Aondeag 03-04-2006, 02:41 PM OH FOR CHRISSSAKES!
Somebody talk to me in here!!!!!
Critique 03-04-2006, 07:09 PM OH FOR CHRISSSAKES!
Somebody talk to me in here!!!!!
I'll talk to ya Aeon, what do you want to know ;) I watched ep 16 about sun and Jin but fell asleep half way through ep 17  I don't think it was boring, just that it was about 2.15 am :) The trouble is, I watch the episodes and then instantly forget them (apart from a general overall impression). All I know is, that it doesn't seem to have moved very far, just more background information about the characters and very little change on the Island. They're really stringing it out.
Aondeag 04-04-2006, 09:50 AM Hurrah! Thank You. :-)
That's exactly what I was saying to myself!
Including the first series I have watched about 40 episodes...and nothing is made any clearer.
I AM enjoying it tho'.I love the way it is unfolding and the new charachters, and Echo and Anna Luisa in particular.
And ALL Hurley's tales....
and Sawyer in the shower being all battered and bruised. :D
All is not what it seems.
Dr Jack is growing on me..now that his mask is slipping a bit.But I like him.
It's like a BIG jigsaw puzzle, with very tiny pieces.
I Dooooo find it fascinating.I hope you agree.
Aondeag 04-04-2006, 09:54 AM Question time: Do you think Walt is still alive?
Was that really him on the other end of the computer.
Do you think the American guy who captured Sayid in Iraq is the same guy who is the leader of the others????
The voice is soooo simillar.
When they did Sawyer's second flashback, it showed him talking to a guy in a diner.
The waitress who served them was Kate's mother.
On an army truck when Sayid was with the American soldiers, one guy showed Sayid a photo of is daughter. That was kate's stepdad, and it was her in the photo.
There are sooooooo many connections.
What does it all mean.
Where is it leading.
That is what I want to know.
Tigereye 05-04-2006, 10:58 AM Am I watching a different show? don't remember any of those...
had a little teary poo when they all reunited on the beach last night
Aondeag 05-04-2006, 11:40 AM No TE..you aint watching a different show.I am watching tons of downloaded episodes from the states. They are about 9 or 10 'sodes' ahead of RTE.
Ooooh did you see Sawyer all battered and bruised.(I am glued to it on RTE as well) Rose and her husband are such a lovely couple.
ooh did you watch the documentary about flann o' brien last nite..and his third policeman?
Tons of LOST clues in that!
:-)
Tigereye 05-04-2006, 11:55 AM nope - missed it. I'd better stay out of this thread too if youre gonna be all meeeeean and post things from da future......
[te huffs off]
Critique 05-04-2006, 12:58 PM Aeon, you're much more observant than me - I didn't pick up on any of those clues about the photos. I think I need to rewatch some of these episodes.:nerd:
I think we'd better keep the discussion of series 2 in the Spoilers thread cos we don't want to spoil it for the others.
Oh, we haven't got a spoilers thread - I thought we had.
Aondeag 05-04-2006, 01:07 PM LOL..you are right. (as for me being observant...read obsessed.)
I'll try and keep things to myself.
(it's just I wasn't expecting anyone else in here for a while)
TE ...come back.
We will just talk about Sawyer and his pecs and rugged-ness henceforth in here.
Honest Injin!
:-)
Tigereye 07-04-2006, 02:57 PM sounds good to me!!
Aondeag 10-04-2006, 09:45 AM
He beats up dammmm good!
