gosh! that's a poser this early in the morning isn't it!

Last night i was watching some programme on BBC1 called Kings of Glam and they didn't feature Gary Glitter, will we now have the history of glam rock rewritten without Gary?

obviously this doesn't just apply to music.

With hindsight do we re-write history or are bits missed out, does a nation "forget" bits to make itself look good, when a nation commits an atrocity can we ever forgive the people? ie. the English treatment of the Boers? the way people ignored the inhumanity of the Germans towards the Jews?

Will we ever be able to sing "Do ya wanna be in my gang, my gang, my gang" with pride, again?

I watched this Dol, and i think Gary Glitter should be been show cased. He was a massive glam rock star - and many copied his look.

Mr.B has two Gary Glitter CDs and we will still play them on occasion - they are good for a giggle.

But yes, in answer to your question i think history does get re written when someone has done something contraversial.

I wonder if they just dropped the bits on him just now because it would have been too close to the trial.

It would be iteresting to know what the programme would have been like if it was due a year's time.

I agree with Rob. :ninja:

I'm sure the programme would be very different in a few years time (after he's died a hideously slow death in a Vietnamese prison) and would probably refer to him as something like "shamed ex-glam rock legend". I actually think it's a bit too pc not to include him in a programme now. Surely the programme's producers don't think we're so stupid not to notice. In fact, you could say he was more conspicuous by his absence, because he's surely the most well-known and not just for his current crimes.

Was the Glitter Band featured? What about the Rubettes? I used to love them and their hats.
