View Full Version : Silly brain waves.Alcohol induced lunches.
Northern angel 08-03-2006, 03:18 PM Hello Haydon and fellow survivors,
I have had a lovely business lunch today and drank my way through a half bottle, oh of 12% proof red dry wine, mm. Delicious, I'm like the cat that got the cream.
I have had a really silly idea. One which will probably merit a big slap. Nevertheless, I am still going to suggest it.
Wally the Witty Willy awards.
A small wally witty willy with a shelf life of 7 days from the date of issue. For being non funny in a funny or humourous thread after that it must be awarded on by the holder. Likewise being extremely witty in a serious thread to the point of distraction. If a small wally witty willy is allocated to you three times a year, this could result in a suspension of 72 hours.
A medium sized wally witty willy with a shelf life of 14 days from the date of issue, for spamming a serious thread or going completely off topic within a serious thread. After 14 days a vote must be taken on who to award it next to. If it is awarded to you twice running an automatic suspension of 72 hours should apply. Voting should be anonymous.
A large sized wally witty willy with a shelf life of 28 days from the date of issue, for trading in insults within a serious thread. The moderators could then adjucate whether this large wally witty willy should be relieved of it duties from the current holder, on the basis of good behaviour within the 28 day issue period. Further offences however within the following 28 days should also receive an automatic 72 hour suspension.
 :angel_not   :naughty:
Love you all. Maureen

Mm Oops just had my orders that if I don't come in and relieve wally willy, I'll be tied up for a month. Hee hee.
Aondeag 08-03-2006, 03:25 PM Ah now MO.....
maxine 08-03-2006, 03:27 PM I think Haydon already has his own system of dealing with misdemeanors, Maureen. I think your ideas, especially the voting, would just lead to bad feeling and possible loss of members.
Glad you had a good lunch though, but half a bottle of wine? Lightweight.
Bonsai 08-03-2006, 03:46 PM What :ninja:
The word Willy made me read the thread .... but i really have no idea what you are talking about Mo. I think you need to drink the other 1/2 of the bottle.

i don't know ... is it some kind of play on www? if so it's quite amusing, i suppose, if it's just an excuse to say "willy" then it's very amusing!!!!

Hello Maxine,
Sch sch, I know Haydon has his own methods of dealing with misdemeanors. Bless him. On a more serious front you are right. I was having a bit of silly fun.
Tonight, I will be having a lot more wine to drink but I'm already confused as to what I'm supposed to be cooking later.

Hello Mars,
I like variations on a theme. (Wally witty willy awards, its just a silly way of saying someone is behaving like a dick head. Also a play on www. A lot of men when they've had a drink give there member a name to. I leave that though to your imagination.)

Hello Dolores,
I do like a drink, but to much drink and sex doesn't do the job.:angel_not The two of us do intend to fall into bed later to sleep. After our cooking efforts are completed in a daze of drunken bliss. :wink_kiss
Wally witty willy awards. Apart from a play on www world wide web.. this is just a friendly way of saying someone is behaving like dickhead.Men sometimes call there members a name too. Oscar Walter etc. I've no doubt if something as silly as this came out I'd be the first receiver.
I was just being silly. Please don't take it seriously.

Hello Dolores,
In view of what has transpired since this afternoon business lunch, I should have drank the restaurant dry and then maybe my existing contract which I'd only renewed 4 weeks ago wouldn't be facing a redraft of my major music mentoring contracts. Taking on students of community based singing courses for the purposes of improving the standard of entrants to televisied talent shows, live theatre and touring based talent shows. Roll on Monday morning 9o clock and an apprehensive weekend, I don't know whether I should be saddened or pleased.

Maureen - sorry matey, no idea what this is saying.
Is it that you are nervous because your employment contract is being redrafted and you don't know what it will say until you go into work on Monday?

Hello survivorfan,
I have some worrying thoughts about whether I'm really suitable material for the task of mentoring people whose main interest is in televised talent shows and seconded only by theatre. My main area has always been what I would term the seriously interested in the arts sometimes for art sake. People who have spent time, energy and some sincere period of study with classical arts music and drama.
I'd always hoped that I wasn't a snob on this score but I do have serious misgivings about the new intake, street culture and the x factor karoake brigade is obviously heading on in. I have suspected for a long time that changes were on the way and in many ways whilst this means an increase in salary, I don't see it as an increase in standards. Hence, I must be a musical snob. I also thought that Wednesday was a wind up and now I know it isn't. The fact that I'm a registered music industry mentor with two arts bodies and I have that support still doesn't make me feel any better.
On a lighter front there will be more organised networking events to attend and opportunities to socialise, as a major food chain and brewer is also sponsoring certain aspects of the additional aspects of my post. I am also partnered up with three other people from the world of rock and heavy metal music. Hence my apprehension.
