View Full Version : 8th March Show
3rd one in the series tonight. I'm well looking forward to it!
Isn't Jo the team manager tonight? Whats the betting at least one of the girls gives her a good :boxing: ?
Dolores 08-03-2006, 06:40 PM I think she will be very dictatorial and cry alot ... great tv! I shall sit back and slurp wine and enjoy! :tv_happy: :wine:
She's doing my head in already :bag:
Andrea 08-03-2006, 09:23 PM Oh damn, forgot about this.
It's because I missed last weeks and caught it yesterday on the repeat.
Oh well looks like I'll be doing the same next week.
Bloody hell. Karen:shocking: I have to say I really thought Jo would go last night. She was absolutely appaling as the PM, no idea at all, she just looked stressed all the time, but at least she didn't cry! I was so hoping Ruth was going to smack her in the chops, fancy doing that with the tyre, what a bloody cheek!!
As mch as I hate to admit it. Syed did well last night,(and I was quite warming to him by the end:wallbash: ) he wasn't quite as annoying, but it will be interesting to see what he's like next week when he's not in control!! I suspect he will be back to his annoying little self.
maxine 09-03-2006, 07:35 AM I thought he was going to fire Alexa, she seemed a bit weak to me.
As for Jo, she's just completely lacking in people skills. She was rubbing the whole team up the wrong way and had a far too aggressive, bossy approach. Still at least she didn't blub this week although I think she was very close to it.
Coastie 09-03-2006, 07:41 AM I swear Jo is still only in there because she is providing 'good' (for want of a lesser word) TV...she is absolutely barking, her strategy was cack and then she was quick to blame everyone else for her failings...other more capable project leaders have been fired so how come, other than Alan think she makes good TV, is she still there!?
It was such a simple task to...all they had to do was phone round a few places and then head out and buy it...most of the leg work could have been done by phone! They were all pretty useless if you ask me!
IsLe Of WeAtHeR 09-03-2006, 08:46 AM Everyone has a Jo at work. Someone who has a terrible ability to empathise, overrates their abilities and constantly causes friction and has "bust-ups". The real reason she wanted to be "team leader" was not that she was brave but that she arrogantly thought she could do it better than the other ones - she was abysmal and wont last too long.
Alex was ideal in a negotiation as she at all times allowed the seller to assume control and think that they were the one doing the favour. Someone will only give a discount from a superior position, if you start dominating, demanding you shift the balance and lose. The best of the lot was the round face chap who was friendly, personal and played the balance well, he will do well. Even Sayed was better (edited).
MariaRob 09-03-2006, 09:59 AM I felt really sorry for Karen as she so did not deserve to be fired and the increasingly highly strung bordering on mentally unbalanced Jo who proved absolute PANTS as the project manager was kept on! But then if you recall in the last series the sour faced woman - cant remember her name now - the one who was rude to everyone - was "saved" many times as well.
IsLe Of WeAtHeR 09-03-2006, 10:35 AM Did anyone spot that last night the "eager-beavers" were actually just given a shopping list and 10 hours to get it?
A single Mum with 3 kids could have bought that lot in about 3 hours. The word "strategy" must be the most overused and meaningless word in "business"
lets go back 10 years to Jo's house..
"Jo, can you get some milk luv?"
10 hours later.. Jo is still prsenting to her soft toys with her Fisher Price Flip-chart
"right, lets brainstorm this, lets monitize the purse and work out our best-route to the shop. blah blah yada yada:sleepy:
Seabreeze 09-03-2006, 11:53 AM As soon as my husband saw Alexa with the flip chart he should "Fire her". He says all the people at work with these have no idea what they are talking about or doing they just like playing with flip charts. I like the way she stood up for herself at the end but really thought she would be the one to go this week.
Coastie 09-03-2006, 12:12 PM Does anyone else wonder about the amount of common sense most of these people have?
I was thinking about Jo's performance (and a few of the others)...it's a common sign of stress and being out of your depth to focus so much on one thing that all else gets side lined and then to blame others for it as as far as you are concerned in your mind you have just worked your socks off even though you haven't really acheived anything. Her focusing so much on the jacket initially and then at the end regarding the tyre was a classic example of someone who couldn't stand the pressure and was out of their depth.
We have it at work...a few jobs come in at once and you know those around you who will not be able to cope with the volume of traffic at that point and so you take on more than is probably healthy so you don't lose them all together...head blow walk out kinda thing!
Did anyone spot that last night the "eager-beavers" were actually just given a shopping list and 10 hours to get it?
YES!! one of the girls actually said in the office 'strategy' meeting..'I don't really understand what we have to do here'.
Flip charts are for people who can't do their job - nil points for Alexa, but sticking up for herself at the end...deux points.
Sayed is still a prat...and his whispering in the ear was both humilating and unprofessional.
PS Nice to see you again weather man.
Patsy 10-03-2006, 10:37 AM Can anyone tell me why Jo felt it necessary, after Karen was booted out, to come out of the boardroom and say to Alexa "don't let me down"?
She obviously didn't realise that she wasn't PM any more.
Dolores 10-03-2006, 08:12 PM Can anyone tell me why Jo felt it necessary, after Karen was booted out, to come out of the boardroom and say to Alexa "don't let me down"?
lol! yes I wondered that too.
i think I might have punched her ... I'd certainly be watching her for backstabbing.
Jo is a great one for passing the buck and assigning blame.
They couldn't ust go out and buy the stuff though could they? they had to get a discount and sometimes this involved negotiating over the phone rather than waste an hour getting there and failing to get the discount.
The girls spent far to long in the board room. All they had to do was phone arond some places make sure they had the item in stock mark them on the map then split up to cover the areas.
Tigereye 15-03-2006, 01:07 AM ok - obviously losing the plot here but wtf did Karen do wrong - I'd love to have her onboard on any venture that might come my way - I mean ****3 - the woman has brains to burn and seemed normal - why did he fire her?
Dolores 19-03-2006, 06:12 PM the woman has brains to burn and seemed normal - why did he fire her?
i think you answered your own question there TE! I liked Karen the most at the beginning. It's a shame she's gone cos she was the most normal one amongst them. But I feel sure she will find a role more fulfilling in life than being Sir Alan's Apprentice!
