View Full Version : Bring Back The Monthly Theme Threads?

The suggestions and banter were usually more interesting than the end results, but they were still amusing, imo.

Would anyone else like to see them back? Or is it a case of been there, done that?

Dolores

I put enjoyed them like to see them back.

Will you be engaging in a power struggle with Cat for them now that Scooby has left, Patsy?!

I was just thinking about them the other day cos of the "1st member of the month" thread ... and I got confused thinking it was a new theme.

Bring 'em back i say.

I would never dream of stepping on Cat's toes, but I fear she may be a little distracted to assume the mantle at the moment.

I'd like to see them back and if anyone would like to volunteer, maybe we could have another poll. :w00t:

I'd like to see them back, and I'm happy for anyone to organise it.

Patsy

Are you including yourself, floops? You're far more imaginative than me. :)

Cat
11-03-2006, 05:41 PM
I have no problems with someone else taking over.

Do you want me to interview?

I'd like to see them back with Cat in charge.

They had a certain surreal quality when Cat did them.

LARF!!!

Cat's take on the monthly theme is a piece of living art, imo!! Of course, if it's handled properly, by members with a lively imagination, and no one in a clique, I think it will be just lovely. :good: :yahoo:

Well I think it's just another excuse to banter and spam. I voted no.

Gotcha!:D

Coastie, as I was walking back from the Pub Theme and Indian Food and Dancing evening at mums home...I was thinking just this. (Blimey).

Shall we bring the two dears back again, I think they will have finished their European Tour.

- Are you still having problems with rhubarb
- is Dave still shagging a sooty mitten

I am being enticed.

Coastie
11-03-2006, 08:40 PM
I have overcome my rhubarb problem but I have a whole list of other stuff the rough old birds could help me with! :naughty:

I was wondering if May could be Motoring May...mainly cos that's when I'm off on my road trip around America...and well everyone else can share about their days driving experiences etc. How many idiots carved them up? How many people did they see using their mobile phones behind the wheel? How many miles did they travel that day? Brrrm, Brrrrm....

Can I just curb you there coastie..I don't think predicting what May will be is helping the course, if I am taking over the last thing I want is you putting forward ideas willy nilly...a month and a half before that month!! How mad is that.

Coastie...hold your horses.

Patsy

It depends how good you are, surely.

And are you assuming that no-one is going to step up to the plate. I think Swerve could be a contender.

It has to be Cat though! :) And Patsy for an award, of course.

errr ... not from me.

i'm just remembering all the bad things about the monthly themes ... the tears ... the tantrums ... the other things beginning with "T" ... it was t'minefield at times wasn't it!

still we have voted unanimously for them to be brought back, so maybe they aren't as minefilled as i thought or maybe we've all got short memories!

Will you be beginning with April or will you start off us with a Mid-March one just to get us into practice for April?

Nope. First "a" that came to my mind. Quicksilver, me.

Actually, it was the second. The first was "ar5ehole", but I feared there would be too many people presuming I was talking about them.

I've found a few unusual A-words which I put forward to the mighty Cat for consideration as prospective themes for April. I have given the meanings alongside. I am particularly fond of the last suggestion.

alectryomachy - cock fighting (I'll leave it to your imagination)

algedonics - science of pleasure and pain (ying and yang etc)

anagraphy - art of constructing catalogues (a group project possibly)

adeniform - shaped like a gland (amusingly shaped vegetables anyone?)

alphitomancy - divination using loaves of barley (fortune telling with bread)

azuline - blue (anythign blue goes)

alieniloquy - speech on subjects other than the matter at hand; off-topic speech (snigger)
