floopy 13-03-2006, 03:25 PM Are you pleased as punch with something that one of your offspring has done? Would you like to share your fabulous child's talents with the rest of the world, but deep down you know they're probably quite ordinary but to you they're the bestest most cleverest things ever to grace the planet?
Then, my good friends, you have come to the right thread. Share their proudest moments and most inspiring achievements here.
As exhibit number one I submit to you, Gigi's first ever painting. I am particularly pleased with her post-modern use of colour coupled with the sense of urgency developing towards the area to the left of centre. She is clearly destined for great things. :pimp:

She definitely has a future in paint..
Patsy 13-03-2006, 03:29 PM The use of colour is genius. I wonder, did her face end up the same colours?
floopy 13-03-2006, 03:30 PM Face, hands, clothes, me, carpet, furniture, cats....:glare:
Patsy 13-03-2006, 03:40 PM A natural expressionist. You must be so proud.

msgirl 13-03-2006, 05:18 PM Have you had the paint appraisers around yet floops?? You could have a future in $$$$$, I mean Gigi could be a world class painter and earn a gazillion dollars!
Gigi is a natural, the colours and the shapes show true genius in inspiration.
I can't find my piggin camera because I have some exemplary pasta pictures that Freddie has done.
floopy, Gigi should be encouraged at every turn to continue these masterpieces!
When I look at her hand painting, I see the sky at dawn on a winter's morning. Quite extraordinary.
Excellent painting Floopy - have the Tate Gallery been in touch yet - it looks to me as if it could be worth millions.
Bella 13-03-2006, 06:03 PM Just think in years to come, you'll still have those images of her little hand-prints. Love the way she has expressed the colours!
Funny I was thinking of posting a picture that Abbie done at nursery today of me - the resemblence is amazing. I'll get a photo and pop it up - you'll never be able to tell the difference!
** note to self to post a picture of Jack's painting of an Eygptian God - painted at the tender age of 7, complete with enourmous blue phallus**
I actually stuck it into a clip frame and put it on the kitchen wall before I realised what the god was holding!!:shocking:
Youngest [7] genius tonight, uttered the immortal words whilst me and Daddy were stacking the dishwasher - and he was eating the vast majority of the dessert he had made - 'yes, the nutmeg adds a real kick, doesn't it Mum?'
He had made a dessert that consisted of
pudding rice,
grated dark chocolate,
ice cream,
Ribena,
grated apple,
grated pear,
diluter Orange squash,
NUTMEG,
milk
and
ovaltine.
Mr F had in his ultmate wisdom cooked the darned thing and we all had to eat it!
Bella 13-03-2006, 08:58 PM I have just come into my bedroom and on my bed is a home-made card addressed to me.
Inside it says:
GET WELL SOON MUMMY!
Then there is picture of me drinking a cup of tea sitting on a chair (it actually has the word chair and an arrow pointing to it). There there are two smaller figures both being Katie & Abbie tidying up.
Then it says " You get you put your feet up and me and abbie will wash and tidy up
to mummy love katie & abbie
It really has cheered me up!
tigger 13-03-2006, 09:16 PM I think you better check your insurance covers that painting Floops. It's fantastic!
Patsy 13-03-2006, 09:25 PM Ah Bella, that's so sweet. I hope you're feeling better.
This is a picture of one of the walls in our kitchen, 3 of which are covered in various pictorial and academic achievements by my two over the years.
The youngest is 10 now, so I really should think about taking them down. Saves decorating, though.

Critique 14-03-2006, 09:24 AM Is it OK for grandparents to join in here?
My son is seriously dyslexic and although he can build and repair computers so he's not unintelligent, he suffers in the reading department.
He was reading a story to his little son the other night and he said "Howdy parents, said Woody". An exasperated 3 year old voice piped up "No Daddy, it's "howdy partners" :) Amazing memories kids have.
floopy 14-03-2006, 10:39 AM Oooh, Pats, I'm liking the silhouetted head thingummy very much.
In fact maybe we could all do one and have a thread of severed members heads :w00t:

Yes, we were really impressed with that one. Apart from the lack of bottom lip, it was an uncanny likeness.
tigger 14-03-2006, 11:41 AM *Phew* I was getting a bit worried then.
Ah I see. Like this...?

That's fantastic! Did you just do that now, or did you already have it in your craft box?
Patsy 14-03-2006, 12:29 PM The length of the tongue is uncanny, Bella.
tigger 14-03-2006, 02:16 PM How come I can't see any of Bella's links? I couldn't see any on the other thread either! It's not about clicking on the link and viewing, it's the fact that the link is not there at all.
That's fantastic! Did you just do that now, or did you already have it in your craft box?
I just did it in a matter of seconds before posting it. Clever, eh?
