View Full Version : 15th March show
Oh this is a joy this week. Syed is back to his gobby self, and his ordering of 100 giant chickens and 300 tonnes of cheese- brilliant. And as for Alexis' comment about being a professional cos she worked on a pizza counter in a supermarket....wonderful:laugh:
mazwad 15-03-2006, 09:11 PM The right result she deserved to go after that debacle. I said to Mr M right at the start why are they ordering so many chickens as you can get a lot of toppings from one.
I didn't understand why they never even tried to sell those cooked chickens surely they could have flogged a few even at a loss it would have been betrer than chucking them.
Me too Mazzer and the vats of topping left, if they had thought on their feet they could have bought some jars and sold "Authentic Pizza Topping" on a side stall, along with the cheese - it would have looked good.
As Alan said they should have all gone, friggin useless the lot of them but Alexa saved Syed skin - this bloke is such an ****.
Still warming to Paul and his funny one liners, from the trailers for next week it indicates that he may be team leader, I hope so then we can see if his sausage is as big as he claims!
maxine 16-03-2006, 06:29 AM Oh dear! Poor old Alexa. I think the writing was on he wall for her last week. She was a really ineffective leader. What about when Samuel was going off on one in the kitchen? She really should've stepped in. Especially when he was pleading 'someone tell me what to do!'
I like Paul too, Cat. I also like Ruth. I think she's got balls and is quite fearless. If only she'd smile a bit more.
Sayed just talks **** most of the time.
Dolores 16-03-2006, 07:01 AM i think I could bear to be in the same room as Alexa for more than five minutes which is more that I can say for the weasely Tuan and the awful Sayed!
having said that she was crap at leading, Sayed was right when he said she can't make a decision and takes everyone's decisions without assessing their merit.
Sir Alan was more brusque than ever last night, he so wants to fire Sayed but knows he is good tv!!!
What I really don't get is how much they overcomplicate EVERYTHING.
For me it's not a matter of who I like, but rather which one irritates me the least and on last night's viewing it is Paul and Sharon.
IsLe Of WeAtHeR 16-03-2006, 08:30 AM AS "Sayed, tell me whoi oi shudn't fire you?"
S "coz i'm a winner"
AS "no your not, you LOST"
s "er yeah"
Yet again this week's task would have been better given to a Mum of 4
Go and buy some shopping and make some food to sell.
Sayed and Alexa could not be trusted to make you a cup of tea, they would fly First class to ceylon, buy a full field of tea and a ceramic factory, a bath and a small foundry
a week later would come back a cup the size of Wembley:wallbash:
MariaRob 16-03-2006, 10:37 AM Where on earth did they find these plonkers? Are they supposed to be the cream of British business brains? If so gawd help us. Jo was not too much in the spotlight yesterday but I noticed when their team won and they were told where they were going she was jumping about and pulling faces like someone who has escaped from a mental home.
It was great when Alexa told her team at the start with wonderful confidence that she had worked in a pizza restaurant(?). Then she finally admitted to Sir Alan that she just worked on the stand in Asda, presumbly just to cut the slices. This is truly great telly.
Bella 16-03-2006, 01:44 PM Oh dear! Poor old Alexa. I think the writing was on he wall for her last week.
I have only started watching this and only caught the end of last week and I thought that Alexa came across pretty poor when Sir Alan asked why should she stay. She lacked the confidence that Jo and Karen had, and waffled, I was surprised when Alan sacked Karen over her and actually believed that she was worth a try.
She blew it big time though as she just accepted any idea that was thrown in the ring, and never kept on top of her team at all.
Jo is one scary woman, she has such an unfriendly face.
Coastie 17-03-2006, 07:33 AM Ooo you could so tell the Sugar wanted to fire the lot of them...he was seething about the loss of around £800 and I don't blame him...what were the boys team thinking?
Sayed should have gone IMO...he was boasting about how he had worked in resturants etc and then he thinks that you need 100 chickens for 100 pizzas...what planet is he on! Saying that the team leam leader was very weak but geez she had to battle with big male egos and I'm sure a couple of them were not chuffed about taking orders from a woman and saught to over ride her at every opportunity..Sayed...
I did have a fit of the giggles thought because I was saying stuff to the lodger about what was wrong and what they should be doing and then about a minute or so later...they recognised the same things! :yahoo: I should be on the show...but since I don't have a degree in business or any experience in running one it will never happen...unless they recognise the value of common sense of course...which seems to be lacking big time in all parties on the show...except the big black guy who is playing a very safe game...I would like to see him challenged a bit more and brought to the front so I can see what he's really made of...he looks good so far but seems to be operating to much within his comfort zone.
Patsy 17-03-2006, 10:07 AM I don't think AS is keeping Sayed in solely for good viewing. I think it's also a case of Sayed being not quite as useless on the day as the person who is sacked.
Ruth seems good and certainly has a lot to say for herself. Looking forward to seeing how she copes with being Team Leader next week.
Also liking Paul and Ansell.
IsLe Of WeAtHeR 17-03-2006, 03:12 PM I cant help thinking that if they stopped thinking that they were all "business people/corporate" and started thinking as adults they may do better. All have this pie in the sky idea of "business" and how one should act etc when the reality of life at work is somewhat different.
I guess they all sign off letters with "Best regards" and start them with "I am writing with reference to" yada yada yada

I have recently taken to this intro, but in my case it's...
I am writing with reference to your outstanding bill, if you don't pay up you die.
Kind regards
Cat

Figaro 19-03-2006, 04:39 PM I've just started watching this programme and I'm addicted. I didn't see the 1st series, but I wish I had now. My main reason for joining this forum is to discuss this programme  I watch it mainly for the ones I dislike: Jo and Sayeed at the moment.
What is that woman Jo like? Horrid, horrid, horrid in my opinion. Loud mouthed, arrogant, insensitive and full of her own self importance. Apparently she used to be a personnel manager. She has all the wrong qualities for that kind of job, yet strangely, in my experience she fits the mould of most of the personnel managers I have ever known. (I hope that there aren't any personnel managers on here otherwise I've probably caused them huge offence).
And Sayeed? Smooth, over-confident, wide-boy. One of my colleagues gets his hair cut by the same haridresser as Sayeed. Apparently he is just as full of it in real life and he didn't own the company he worked for - he was just a salesman and he got his boss (the owner) to lie for him so he could get on the programme. The boss did it just to have an excuse to get rid of him. I don't know if that is true, but I could imagine it being true.
I don't know yet who I want to win. I quite like Ruth and I quite like Manny, although he went down in my opinion a bit during the last task when he took over and didn't get his hands dirty.

ooooooooo you like Manny? Hi btw. I don't like him too much, he just isn't as bad as Sayed. And is Ruth the girl with the dark hair and quite opinionated? I like her if that is who you mean.
What on earth type of students do Oxford produce when a economics grad cannot give simple change from a tenner?? Alexa utterly deserved to be fired - I just wish Sir AS had the balls to fire two - roll on next weeks challenge.
Fee For All 19-03-2006, 05:59 PM Loud mouthed, arrogant, insensitive and full of her own self importance.
You said that like it's a bad thing...
Coastie 19-03-2006, 07:42 PM Welcome Fig! :bye:
I would like to see win:
The big black guy who looks like a bouncer is the best of the boys or the dumpy dark haired woman who seems like the only one willing to stand up to the over bearing Jo half the time!
That head hunter guy who sold an apple for £3 or whatever in the first programe...I seriously wouldn't trust him as far as could throw him...he seems all nicey, nicey, but some of the stuff he's said behind the others back has been a wee bit off IMO! :glare:
WhatApprentice? 23-03-2006, 12:00 PM Isn't it strange that when Sir Alan wants rid of someone, it matters not whether they are project manager. Usually, if they are and are on the losing team, they suffer the fate of being fired, unless he perverts the evidence to save them: witness the success of Jo, who was, apart from Alexa, was the most inept pm we have seen yet. However, clearly Sir Alan didnt want to have Karen on board so she had to go. Last week, Sayed who showed a woeful lack of understanding, when he grossly over-ordered stock, wasn't sacked though Alexa, a poor project manager was. It is just as well this is TV and not the true world of HRM otherwise AMS would never be away from tribunals dealing with unfair dismissal.
I'm sure that the programme would be just as interesting if the person fired was determined by assessing the evidence rather than what appears to be the gut reaction of the 'star', AMS. I find his inconsistency and glaring unfairness towards some of the candidates irritating and unprofessional. You don't have to shout and bully to be a good manager or a good entrepreneur.
Patsy 23-03-2006, 04:11 PM I hear what you're saying WA (hello BTW), but of course he's not going to keep anyone who is totally useless to him, but at the same time he can't just get rid of someone just because they are annoying. This is, after all, a TV show and not real life. Jo and Sayed will go and soon.
