Does anyone know anything about combis. Ours has packed up and its freezing and I have to go to the gym to shower. Can light the pilot light but it just goes out again. Cant get an engineer until next week!

Also any recommendations on boilers, have a Saunier Duval, but the sales service is rubbish and I defintely wouldnt get one again because of that. Sorry if its a technical question but I know there are are clever bods out there!!

Sorry I should have put this in Feeback and Help forum

No matter what anyone else tells you do not buy a Worcster 24i (or any Worscter for that matter) they are cack with a capital C! I have one and it is constantly breaking down...my brothers freind has one...same problem...my mum has one and hers is chucking out vast amounts of CO2! :ranting:

Valiant are okay apparently but there is another make begining with B that's supposed to be pretty good to...

Hi MariaRob. and he said it's probably your thermocouple (sp?). He said what you need to do is get the model number of your unit and the type (name) of it and go down to your local boiler/plumbing centre and buy a thermocouple. I don't think they are expensive. Your husband should be able to change it although don't tell anyone as it's not entirely legal, but would save you a whole lot of money. Hope that helps. :)

I have a combi boiler and the same thing happened to ours. It turned out to be the thermo couple, but depending on how old it is they are not that simple to change. The whole thing comes as a unit in the newer boilers (in the old ones they used to be a curly piece of pipe or wire or something) If you have warranty I would resist tamerping with it and wait for the engineer....
