come on share your stories!
I've never lost my luggage but I went to Corfu with a crowd and one of the women didn't get her luggage at the other end! Unfortunately for her she was about a size 8 and so no-one else's clothes fit her ... aint life a bitch sometimes huh! :glare:
Anyway she coped very well and with mix and matching from everyone's wardrobe including one of the blokes long boxer shorts, she looked better and more originally dressed than anyone else on the Island!
her luggage did eventually turn up and sometimes I think that is what amazes me more than it going missing ... the fact that sometimes it gets found!

I have almost lost my luggage - me & my friend were going to Germany one year for Christmas and we flew from Edinburgh to Heathrow to Dusseldorf. Our luggage was supposed to be checked straight through from to Edinburgh to the German flight, so we didn't have to bother picking up our cases from the carousel. Anyway we had a few hours to spare in Heathrow before our flight and had lunch, done some shopping and were walking round the airport and here on the carousel was this lonely case........AND IT WAS MINE!!!
We grabbed it off and ran all the way to the Lufthansa desk which was heaving by this time and just managed to check it in, in time!
My friend lost her luggage going to Thailand a few years ago and she had to go and buy new stuff while she was there and just charge it back to the airline.
My brother in law lost a brand new set of golf clubs coming back from Florida.......so I wonder which airport worker was teeing off with them!
This might tempt fate so it is  from me!!!

My luggage got lost once when I flew from Manchester to Stansted - it was a massive problem at the time as I'd just started Weigh****chers a couple of says before and all my WW stuff was in the luggage....so until I got it back I didn't know what I should be eating!!
Luckily it turned yp at Heathrow and they put it in a taxi to deliver to me so I got it back the next day.

I know im off topic, but that was one of the best moments in 'Meet the Parents' when Ben Stiller was playing Mr. Focker. His luggage went missing, and when a taxi turned up with it the family realised his full name was Gaylord Focker.
I nearly wet my knickers laughing.
But on topic i have never lost my luggage, but when i pack for hubby and me i always mix and match the cases - so Mr.B's has half of his clothes and half of mine. That way, at least one of us would have something to wear until the case was found.
I have never lost my luggage. However, coming home from Portugal two years ago, we landed at Gatwick and were taking forever to be let of the plane. Everybody sat patiently waiting for the steps when the captain announced that none of the luggage had been loaded at Faro! Nothing at all, not one case! The English were playing Portugal at football that night and the baggage handlers were on a go slow, we think the Police just wanted us out of the country and so the captain never said a thing and just flew us home rather than delay the flight. Youngest Buzz was most distressed because I had insisted he pack his teddy bear in the case and not carry it hand baggage:wallbash:
Some friends who were flying back to Luton, were delayed by two hours, but came home with their luggage.
The joys of travel!!

I lost my sleeping bag once at Toronto airport...I was gutted as it was my first decent sleeping bag, my mum had bought it for me as a going away gift before I departed for the U.S. for five months, and me and the sleeping bag had shared a few adventures already so there was a bit of the old sentimentality attached to it.
I called the airport once I realised it was missing from my pack and they said they hadn't seen it. I up sticks and went back there the next day and to my relief found my beloved sleeping bag all alone in a wire basket at the end of the conveyor belt...:yahoo:
Other than that...all has been well thus far!

My luggage went missing when I went to Majorca twenty years ago. We were only there for a week and it didn't turn up for 2 days. So I spent the first couple of days in a jumper and sunbathing in my undies.
