Is anyone else suffering from Hayfever already ?

I normally only get it mildly, and only at the beginning of the year so when everyone else is suffering ive gotten over it.

But this year its hit me with a vengence.

I adore my weekend lie ins, but this morning i woke up at 6am bunged up, needing to sneeze and my eyes running. I blew my nose, but then it was like someone turning on the tap. I then started sneezing (and the results werent pretty).

I decided to get up in the vain hope that Mr.B can stay in bed and have some extra sleep - but i well and truly woke him.

So now i feel a bit tired and grouchy.

I'm the same as you, Bonnie, I always get it early. What do you think we're allergic to? Grass?

At the moment I feel like I've got a cold, but I know it's not.

I wonder if it is the pollen from daffodils. I don't suffer from hay fever but I can't have daffs in the house as they make my eyes really itchy.

My mum always told me that people who get hayfever early in the season are allergic to the trees coming into bud. I dont know if she is right or not.

I think the majority of people are allergic to grass and rapeseed makes my husband suffer - but i can walk through a field of the stuff and not sneeze once.

Dear Bons,
Everything here is blooming and the yellow pollen is covering everything like a golden powdery mist and I've been having to take Alka Seltzer Plus in the morning to get my swollen, itchy eyes open and the tickle out of my throat. Then at night I take my prescribed anti-histamine b/c it makes me sleepy. We need a good cleansing rain to descend and wash all this pollen away.

Yours in hayfever hell...msgirl:wacko:

I bought these cheap as chips tablets from Tesco. They cost something stupid like 50p a packet and they are for Hayfever. I tell you, they are fantastic. Just pop two teeny tiny tablets and you have 8 hrs of sneeze free life.

Smashing :good:

I used to suffer from hayfever quite badly....then suddenly it stopped. I didn't have a clue why until a friend who studied herbal medicine told me that camomile tea is a good preventative for hayfever - and as I alway drink at least 4 or 5 cups a day that what I put it down to.
It's worth a try for anyone who is suffering.
