Lucky cow :glare: Any room for me?

I have no plans to go abroad this year. I am going to T in the Park this summer so dunno if I can afford to do anything else.

Me and Miss PJ were talking about going to Paris for the weekend though sometime soon. So, fingers crossed for that.

On Monday we're off to Nice for a week - we don't usually go abroad at Easter - but it's our silver wedding anniversary.

In summer a bunch of us - seven in total - are going to go to the Loire Valley. It's the same place that my wife and I went last year and it should be fun with a crowd.

Mr M and I are off to France in the camper van for two weeks in June. The plan is to go to Narbonne in the south taking a couple of days driving down. We will go to a campsite when we get there but plan to wildcamp on the way there and back.

Its only about an hour and a half from Spain so may take a day to visit there as I have never been before. We are not booking a site as then we can drift as we please and as its not in the main season should be okay.

We are using the tunnel as I had Tesco vouchers that I could use for travel and that keeps the cost down, just diesel and site fees to pay.

We are hoping to go to Egypt in september for a week and will go to a beach resort and laze about. Will book nearer the time when we see how the finances are.

Aondeag, do the open top tour bus. It's great. Buy a whole day ticket so you can get on and off any stop you like for how long you like.
One of the stops is "Our Dynamic Earth" exhibition (is this still there, Bella? - go to it, it's excellent.
And remember and climb up the scot Monument and you'll get a certificate.
I remember I needed help coming down it cos I was scared sh**less as it was so high.

AD have you gone yet??

The best and cheapest thing in Edinburgh* to do is go visit the Scottish Museum, along from Grey Friars Bobby - it is huge, seriously interesting and FREEEEEEEE!!!!

We are planning a two week canal holiday starting at Weedon and doing a loop that takes in the bits of the Leicester Canal and the River Avon. I have no idea where anything is - I just love canal holidays.:applause:

* apart from Bella of course! [ooops that sounds like Bella is the best and the cheapest - he he. She is the best of course, but certainly not the cheapest!!]

No..I'm still here.Counting the hours.
Thanks folks...can't wait.I have been to Edinburgh a few times as my sister used to live there.I can't wait to go back.
Nothing is set in stone as regards our itinerary... but I definitely want to do the open top bus, and Edinburgh castle.
I'm sure finding a pub will be no problem...
ooh where should I go for nice restaurant type food?
:-)
T-minus 2 days! Yay!
OH..also...is there anywhere we can find out about 'shinty'...?
I'd love to know more about that and possibly see a game if at all possible.
Thanks.

We poo poo'd the barge holiday and settled on a rather lovely cottage in Dorset near my brother. Its the ding dong of cottages..infact look here for yourselves:

Aww, Aon I have only just seen this and that you are in Edinburgh. Hope you are having fun!

We spent yesterday at the Museum and have to say as Flip has pointed out this is a fab place!

It's got a section on everyday household stuff from when we were growing up and I pointed to a LP record and asked her what it was and she said it was a olden days CD! Also she was a bit stumped at a typewriter, she knew it has a keyboard like a computer but didn't know what it was.

We are hopefully going to the Castle today, so you never know we may brush past each other!

Hope you have a great time! And you even got snow yesterday, 4 season in one day!

We have just booked a cottage in Aviemore and pray that we get good weather. It is fantastic up there, loads to do for the kids and it has that cill-out, take easy sort of lifestyle. I can't wait!

I'm off to Newquay this weekend to visit my brother and his family...it's going to be very noisey compared to what I am used to and I am sure the journey will involve giant queues of traffic but hey...it's one of thos sisterly and daughterly duty things since my mum really wants to go! :kid:

Then...I'm going away in May for a whole month to drive around the states...in case you didn't know that already...Dol got her words muddled down the pub the other night and asked how will I be Car Jacking my way round the states...now there's a thought...I know want to right a book entitled 'Car Jack USA - The Ultimate Driving Adventure!' :naughty:

Oooh, Coastie I can just see you getting all organised for your trip! Keep us posted with your Thelma & Louise adventures!

That looks a fab cottage Cat, looks really homely!

C'mon Anodeag I wanna know what you got up to in Edinburgh - where did you go, what did you, who did you snog, did you dance on the tables? What did you like the best, what did you like the least?

Did you do the open top bus? I have promised the kids that we are going to one of them in the summer, I did the Dublin one in the pouring so there is really no excuse for me not to do the Edinburgh one in the freezing cold!

Details please Aondeag, don't keep us waiting! :D

Hee...you havint been watching the news since the weekend then Bella.
'Five go mad in Scotland'...that was us!
We were the picture of well behave-ed-ness. Everyone says so!
It was a great weekend...waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too short.
No dancing on the tables, i'm afraid. But only because we were too busy sliding under them.(Is there an actual closing time in Scotland...Hic!)
I found a strange number in my mobile phone just a few minutes ago...
which I think dates from saturday night....I vaguely remember explaining my ring tone to a cute boy.
Alas..that is all.

My brother has informed me that all the pubs round where we are staying are oldy and fantastic. Lovely for Sam 12 and Ross 10 but not the afterthought/suprise Freddie 3. Early doors for us then.

Tip: Don't have sex willy nilly when yourchildren are nearly self contained.

TOP: We have a lovely terrace though,so weather obliging we can get spliced on that whilst Freddie and Basil run round in the enclosed garden.
