View Full Version : What are you doing right now?
Critique 01-05-2005, 07:50 PM I'm sitting here watching it get dark and wondering where my hubby and grandson are! They came back from flying model aeroplanes about 5.30 pm and then took off again for the local park with model cars. Haven't seen them since. I fell asleep and have been watching The Princess Margaret Story and am wondering whether Mr. C has his mobile phone on him. (Some hopes).
mazwad 02-05-2005, 05:27 AM Looking through the boards been up since 4 with a belly ache the only morning of the holiday I could have a lay in bluddy typical.
Critique 02-05-2005, 08:57 AM Hi Mazz, just tried to message you but you must be either busy or on the loo :)
I'm sitting here listening to Mr. C cursing and swearing because our shower has sprung a leak and has been dripping downstairs into the flat below all night. Lucky Brian's at Abby's but he still won't be pleased
It's going to be a long job under the floorboards I think! Poor Mr. C usually works Bank Holiday, he gets one off and spends it doing something he really doesn't want to.
Hope you're feeling better S-I-L.
Drinking tea and making a decision!
Bonsai 02-05-2005, 12:28 PM Wellllll - im multi tasking. I have a fag in one hand, a belgium choccie in the other, and in between smoking and eating im drinking the vodka and coke in front of me

Andrea 02-05-2005, 02:23 PM No multi-tasking for me.
I'm just lazing about :w00t:
Nothing! (and really enjoying it)
Critique 05-05-2005, 09:19 AM Nothing but not really enjoying it - the flat's a tip, the washing bin's overflowing, I still have to put all the stuff back in the bathroom where we had the floorboards up because of a leak, well I won't bore you with all the details but you get the picture!
Was determined to get up and get going today but I can't get motivated. Will have to pretend that someone is coming round at 3 pm - it's amazing what you can do in an emergency.
I suppose the secret is to turn off the computer!!! Never - lol.
Nothing
Good for you Crit

Andrea 05-05-2005, 08:56 PM I'm off to watch Peter Kaye, live at the top of the tower on channel 5.
Not seen that one.
Although my mum always says that it is not at the top of the tower, because there isn't a stage there, it is at the bottom of the tower where the circus is.
Oh my mother :w00t:
Patsy 05-05-2005, 09:16 PM When she's right, she's right. I've been up there many times. I've seen this one before, got it on video in fact. Very very funny man.
Fee For All 05-05-2005, 09:45 PM Oh Andrea - I'm glad I saw your post - I haven't seen this one!!
He is so very very funny. My grandmother always used to ask to have the 'big light' on.
Andrea 05-05-2005, 10:25 PM Lol Fee, the big light.
He was hilarious.
I've not seen this one before, I've seen the live at the bolton hall.
But my BIL has always gone on about this one and about "it's spitting".
I kind of knew what he was on about, but to see it, I just laughed.
IT'S SPITTING, KIDS GET IN
And I've heard him go on about t'internet before. You can buy these T-shirts with t'internet on them, I want one :w00t:

Oh my mother :w00t:
When i first read this I thought it said live as in living. Wondered why he would want to live at the top of a tower and what tower? Doh!
I'm "resting". Had to have g/son here last night cos his dad has taken his g/f for a romantic evening in Paris for her 40th birthday. Not much romance about though, they had a flaming row last night.
Just got back from the school run. Cor wouldn't like to do that every day. Flipping dustmen blocking up the side street I usually nip down to get out onto the roundabout. I had to reverse into the main road and go another way. Very stressful for someone who doesn't "do" mornings.
More tea and ciggies now to recover.
Sorting out another mound of washing! I am really not sure where it all comes from!
Bella 06-05-2005, 09:02 AM Lol Fee, the big light.
He was hilarious.
Watched this last night too, practically peed my pants! He was hilarous! The big light, the fine rain, the hand actions when you ask if anyone wants a drink, the coming home from holiday in your shorts & t-shirt, the running around when the taxi arrives! Hysterical!!
I am off to put the nappies on the washing line, then going round to a friends for coffee.
I am eagerly awaiting the return of Mr F with a pair of rubber gloves for me. I am desperate to get out into the garden [my new passing fancy] - but I am sick of wrecking my nails and getting ingrained muck into all the creases - and gardening gloves are all to big for me - so RUBBER is the way forward.

Trying on some new clothes that have just arrived from my catalogue
Critique 06-05-2005, 11:54 AM Trying to wrap up a Badminton racquet that arrived bent (not mine I hasten to add - far too energetic for me). I got no brown paper to send it back so was trying to fit it back in original but torn wrapper!
I don't want to go to town, get wrapping paper, bring it back, wrap up racquet and back down to Post Office. If it was a bit smaller I could wrap it in the Post Office but it keeps fighting back and I don't want to make a spectacle of myself again
It seems to have doubled in size or the paper's shrunk. Reckon they'd mind if I sent it back in "Happy Birthday" wrapping paper? The good news: Happy Birthday. The bad news: Here's your crappy racket back now send me a decent one!

Oh Dolores Bed would be Bliss but unfortunatly had housework, ironing and dinner to do as well as run around after the men in my life(the boys have no consideration when mum and dad have hangover actually seem to get noisier  )and in the next half hour have to start getting boys in the bath and stuff sorted for their school (beloved away to work for nightshift) so bed for me is only a pipedream roll on ten when kids will be in bed and so will I.
Any open bottle in here is also an invitation for it too be emptied quickly too. Can't have one drink cos it leads to ten hence the hangover

After an extra weekend of having Tom while his dad was away, then he came with his 2 yr old this morning and I made lunch for them and played with the little one who was a bit whiney today and then I cleared up the toys and then he has his girls after school on a Tuesday. I felt tired of running round after them all and am glad of a bit of peace.

I had to have one of each to see which was the nicest:w00t:
And in conclusion, I cannot decide, I may well have to test the theory again.
Trying to work out how many salmons I need to order to feed 50 people??
I have no idea how much large salmons weigh - and if I allow 3 ozs per person I would need 150 ozs which is roughly a large 9 lbs of salmon - can you get 9lb salmons??
[I know 3ozs sounds a bit measly, but there are 2 huge gammons and salads and cheeses, and buns and stuff like that - and then puds too]

A) Pondering on whether Salmon is one of those singular or plural words like Sheep that doesn't need an "s" on the end. But then "how many Salmon I need doesn't sound right" .... oh well, sod it (I sometimes wish I could get my head above trivia like that)

ooooo Crit - you got me there now - If I hadn't looked at what I had written I would have assumed I put salmon - but look I put salmons - I think your right I am sure it is salmon both singular and plural - anyway do you know can you get 9lb salmon[s]??
Andrea 24-05-2005, 12:37 PM A 9lb salmon seems quite a biggie.
I am picturing my hubby bringing home a 5lb bass and that is quite big, so a 9lb salmon would be huge.
edited to add that this is a 5lb bass, so don't know how big a 9lb salmon would behttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/andreab33/DSCF0014.jpg

Andrea - your Bass looked a little bigger than this - or was it an optical illusion?? That looks quite big doesn't it?? But if I am feeding 50 it has to be pretty big.
But thank you - I feel a thread coming on?
