View Full Version : Would you buy a used car from them?
Dolores 29-03-2006, 09:37 PM I wouldn't!!
What a bunch of losers they all were tonight, aggressive, overbearing, rude, boring (Sayed), patronising.
I wouldn't trust most of 'em to do my weekly shopping!
mazwad 29-03-2006, 10:16 PM Most definitely not. I think they are a horrible bunch can't take to any of them. Paul is playing a sneaky game trying to keep in with everyone I know some people like him but I don't trust him at all.
Jo had to go tonight she really is a strange one and was the worst performer in the task. Ruth was a good sales woman but her scarey miss piggy face would have put me off.
Tuan has annoyed me the least but I seem to remember him weeping in one episode and I think he is a bit of a weak character.

Totally agree they are a total bunch of t***sers. In a way I was sorry to see Jo go last night cos she was entertaining but she had been living on borrowed time since that tyre incident when she was an appalling project manager. The one I dislike the least is the one they fell out with yesterday whilst celebrating their win, cant even remember her name, but she seems the least foolish.

i think that's Michelle, MR. I quite like Michelle too, but I thought she was quite hard faced about Sharon's tears ... Ok I agreed with her to some extent, but she did come across as too ruthless. I think that kind of hard facedness in a woman against another woman, for some reason just doesn't compute with most men and that's why the men graviated towards Sharon at the end ... and Sharon was more than happy to play victim to Michelle's hard face!
Loved the argy bargy on the barge though ... wish we could have seen more of that!
I think Michelle has effectively distanced herself from the group now and will find it hard to get back in with them ... quite frankly they aren't worth the effort imo!!
Still wouldn't trust any of them to go to Asda and do my weekly shop for me!
mikado 30-03-2006, 12:02 PM I wouldn't trust most of 'em to do my weekly shopping!
It makes you wonder doesn't it...
Sayed: "In a weeks time you'll be able to sell these apples for more than what you paid here..."
Sam: "Well we're the cheapest coz we're a supermarket..."
etc
I thought it was a bit of a rubbish challenge really. Just a test of personal salesmanship skills (and even there, the people that knew nothing about cars stood no chance...) And this thing about only being allowed to sell in two groups - presumably so the camera crews could follow them? So obviously in each pair the strongest seller will take the lead and close the sales, yet SAS has a go at the ones that didn't sell anything??
I thought Ruth looked good once again (apart from this irritating thing of blinking and frowning when challenged). Fair play to Paul for offering some support to his project manager when all the rest of the team were putting the knife in.
MariaRob 30-03-2006, 01:13 PM i think that's Michelle, MR. !
Ah yes, she was the one who was having a fling with Sayeed and then he dumped her when she was caught on camera slagging him off. Loyality is obviously not a virtue SAS is looking for and these seem to be a particularly back-biting bunch!
Bella 30-03-2006, 01:26 PM I used to work along aside car salespeople, my company arranged the finance for them and to be honest I would be hard pushed to buy a car from a garage salesroom!
It is getting nasty now as they are nearing the winning post, it is every man for themselves even though they are supposed to be working as a group.
Sharon's voice is bugging me more & more every week, she is so whiny!
I don't know if there is something going on between Sharon & Paul, he stood up for her, gave her a wee wink when they won and they kep glancing at each other when Sir Alan was telling them what their prize was.
Jo would have went as some point and as she didn't sell any cars and probably scared all the customers away it was time for her to go. She bordered on being pathetic though as she begged Sir Alan to let her stay.
Like Dol, I would have liked to have see more of what went on, on the barge. I do enjoy a good b*tchfest! So had Paul been talking about Sharon behind her back or did Michelle just make it up?
And Anson, sorry he does seem like a nice guy but I think that is going to be his downfall. He just is too nice and does he need those glasses for a medical condition or something? I am not too sure if that is the reason or not as if they are not, they look very prattish!
IsLe Of WeAtHeR 30-03-2006, 02:30 PM Sugar probably would not employ any of them but for £100,000 a year (for possibly just one year) he gets weeks and weeks of free advertising on the BBC. This is a TV first and a recruitment process way, way 2nd.
The problem with the people is simply that they are trying to be what they are not. They think that to be successful you need to adopt this persona that they seemed to have gleaned from watching DVD's of Wall street and Glengarry Glenross. They think to impress Sugar they have to be like him but they don't actually know him, they know about him.
Ultimately the show does not find great potential business people it just finds people who would have gone on Big Brother etc but did not get in.
Bella 30-03-2006, 02:57 PM I didn't watch the first show but is the person who won that one still employed by Alan Sugar?
What I do like about this is Sir Alan's assistants, they are straight-forward people who aren't trying to hog the limelight and are not the glossy false image that most assistants have in these reality tv programmes. And you just know that the respect is both ways.
Figaro 30-03-2006, 09:10 PM I doubt I would buy a car from most of them, except Ruth. She was the only one who sounded like she knew what she was talking about and didn't seem desperate. I thought she was really impressive and I could easily imagine buying a car from her.
The rest of them were total no-marks. If any one of them approached me at a dealership it would probably send me walking out the door!
I agree with the person who said it was a rubbish task though. Anyone who didn't know much about cars was going to be vulnerable even if they had natural sales skills. I thought it favoured the lads really, which is ironic as the best salesperson was a woman. I also thought it was weird that the team with the best sales force still lost the task! They were better at selling cars, and worked properly as a team, but failed because they forgot the £20 "extra's". Flaky task, I thought.
I didn't like her much, but I was a bit sorry to see Jo go.

Well it could be that she gave him a blistering blow job after lights out the night before, but I think it's more likely that Paul is 'schmoozing' as Sugar Boy calls it, inother words suck upto your Proj Man so she doesn'tcall you in for the chop if your team loses. I think he'll be niceto her uintil it suits him not to be which should't be too long.

It could be that, couldn't it! Especially as I'm sure that Sharon's team thought they were going to lose. I like Paul, but I'm sure he is capable of that sort of insincerity.
Although having said that, I'm sure I've seen him be insulting about some of his other Team Leaders in the past.
It will be interesting to see how Sharon and Paul get on for the next couple of weeks.
Joe from the Apprentice was on loose women today when asked who she wanted to win she said Michelle (or was that Sharon!-one of them) I hadn't got the impression that either of these girls had any time for Joe at all so I wonder if one of these made it through.
Out of all the woman left Ruth seems the one able to hold it together.
Sayid (I was brought up on a council estate) should be booted out next, how many times can he play the poverty card. Andy is so full of himself but quite a likable chap and seems more able than most.
Wonder who will be on whos team next week. I feel sorry for any of them having to be on Sayid's

next time Sayid is on the losing side I'm betting he will be called into the board room and I'm betting he will be FIRED! Of course if he's on the winning team Sir Alan wont even get the chance to fire him ... which would be a shame!

Exactly IOW. Sir A isn't looking for a know it all, he has enough of those already and no doubt pays them a very good salary for that knowledge. He's looking for someone who is mouldable. Someone who listens, someone who learns from their mistakes.
Remember last year's winner was the slightly quieter guy who flew under the radar a lot of the time. He took him on as an apprentice not someone who already had all the experience, skills and knowledge who would leave as soon they got a better offer.

I no like Sayid! :glare: What a jumped up aroggant little prick he is...ooo and when Sugar picked him up about his lying...I heard another nail go into Sayids coffin!
Have to say the only person who would stand even the remotest chance of flogging me a car is Ruth...
I was suprised that the 'Bouncer' (can never remember his name...big black guy) got bad repped by the sales staff at the car lot...so far he's the only guy who has actually impressed me...Paul will go far but I just wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him!
Although she started off as being incredibly annoying, and only became slightly less so as the show went on, I am going to miss Jo now...weird..I wanted her fired but now I'd exchange her for Sayid any day!
