Can anyone recommend a good but cheap place to buy home / contents insurance.

I was so chuffed today that i had been paid as i had some money this month (last month i had to pay the water bill and vets bills) and now i have just had the insurance renewal and they was £225 !!! I wanna cry.

So, any suggestions ?

Thanks SF. I did as you suggested and i managed to get the same insurance cover for £108 !!!! Fantastic. If i ever meet you again ill buy you a beer or two.

Would you of gone for the cheapest, or a well known company ?

I also struggled when it asked how much my house would cost to replace if it burnt to the ground. The house is worth £160k ish now - so i said £80,000 to replace. Does that sound right for a re-build ? You see im worrying now !!!

Sounds about right. Mind you - it'll never need rebuilding so don't lose sleep over it!

THe insurance companies listed on that site should all be kosher so nothing wrong with usingthe cheapest.
