In October I went to Honfleur in Normandy. I promised some pictures - so here they are -

This is the wooden church of Honfleur - inside it looks like a boat that has been turned upside down.

This is the bell tower of the same church - It was too heavy to go on top - so they put it across the road!!

The Vieux Bassin - or old harbour

The same - from the other side

Beach huts at Deauville - just down the coast.

Beware - I may post some more pics when I get back!!

LOL - the beach huts are named after movie stars...it's like going into an Odean cinema where the toilet cubicle doors have the names of movie stars on...I was Marylin Monroe a few times you know!

Didn't go to Honfleur, Robster, but loved Deauville. Would like to go again and spend a bit more time driving around Normandy. We missed the military graveyards completely!!!!

Good.

They are beautifull pictures of a beautifull place. When you see a harbour with tall narrow buildings dont' you just itch to draw it???

Look forward to the next installment Robster.

Made me wish I could draw! The harbour is really beautiful - there are loads of cafes/bars/restaurants around it - we spent a lot of time there!!

Next installment is Nice - before the end of the week - I hope!

Don't be so defeatist, next time take a blow up photocopy of one of your pictures and trace it onto a new peice of paper. Then you can sit there at your easel and thoughtfully colour it in with crayon.
