Rob 17-05-2006, 10:51 PM This week in our local Arts Centre - Habeaus Corpus by Alan Bennett - a wonderful production of a very funny play - not that I'm biased or anything! IT has had fantastic reviews and should be a good night. Rob 25-02-2007, 08:52 PM Next week - Hay Fever starring - Stephanie Beacham and Christopher Timothy. Fee For All 26-02-2007, 02:20 PM I see you more as Mrs Bumble :bye: http://www.sabos.co.uk/images/2005-oliver/ActOne028.jpg Patsy 27-02-2007, 09:36 AM No, far too young and attractive. :bag: (me, not Mrs Bumble). Silly me, of course you haven't. Coastie 04-03-2007, 06:17 PM I'm off to see 'Starlight Express' at the Mayflower - Southampton on the 2nd April... Mama Coastie has always wanted to see it...I'm not too fussed but am looking forward to a night out at the theatre anyway!:good: Patsy 05-03-2007, 09:00 PM I have a line! Only one, but it's a loud one! And no, it's not "woof!" Critique 05-03-2007, 09:08 PM I'm off to see 'Starlight Express' at the Mayflower - Southampton on the 2nd April... Mama Coastie has always wanted to see it...I'm not too fussed but am looking forward to a night out at the theatre anyway!:good: Hope Mama Coastie enjoys it, Coasters. I wanted to walk out at the interval. Not my "thing" at all but my friend had taken me as a birthday "treat" so I had to stick it to the end :( Fee For All 05-03-2007, 09:14 PM Oom-pah-pah? Knives. knives to grind? Patsy 06-03-2007, 01:28 PM Nope. Not even close. Seabreeze 06-03-2007, 01:44 PM I Not my "thing" at all but my friend had taken me as a birthday "treat" so I had to stick it to the end :( A friend took me to see this as well for my birthday treat. Was good but it just went on for too long really. There is only so much rollerblading you can watch Coastie 06-03-2007, 07:14 PM Well its been Mama Coasties long held ambitions so I hope she isn't dissapointed! Rob 22-03-2007, 05:31 PM Just saw Blood Brothers last night - second time I've seen it - still brilliant! Patsy 22-03-2007, 05:45 PM Still haven't seen that, Robster, but everyone says how good it is. 13 days to go to first night of Oliver. We have a dog now - which is nice. Rob 22-03-2007, 06:27 PM 13 days to go to first night of Oliver. We have a dog now - which is nice. Never work with children or animals............................ Critique 22-03-2007, 06:59 PM Still haven't seen that, Robster, but everyone says how good it is. 13 days to go to first night of Oliver. We have a dog now - which is nice. Patsy, you didn't get your dog from a woman who was walking it in the park did ya? Now that might seem a daft question but when me and Maz were coming back from London on Tuesday, we got chatting to a nice young chap who came from Kent and during our conversation about the theatre he happened to mention that his mum had one of those dogs like the one in Oliver with the black patch over one eye and she'd been approached by someone and asked if she'd be willing for it to appear in a stage play of Oliver. If it was the same one, wouldn't that be an incredible co-incidence? Patsy 23-03-2007, 08:56 AM That really is a coincidence, Crit, because the woman who brought the dog in said it was her son's dog - well, bitch actually. She had just had an operation. Well, what about that then?! mazwad 23-03-2007, 06:25 PM Ask her if her son is a handsome young man who drives his dads American car at Goodwood. Patsy 23-03-2007, 07:39 PM I'm seeing her on Sunday, so I will! Critique 23-03-2007, 07:45 PM Yeah, and did you see him on our local news Maz? He was leaning on the Corvette in the background when they were interviewing the main people about the Festival of Speed. :) I wouldn't know a Corvette if it run over me but I'd told Phil about it and he said "that's a Corvette there" and sure enough, there was the bloke we were chatting to :) Patsy 23-03-2007, 08:29 PM How old is he? Critique 23-03-2007, 09:15 PM Dunno Pats - mid twenties I'd guess. Maz might know though, she was sitting nearer than me and I didn't catch everything he said. mazwad 23-03-2007, 10:10 PM He looked mid twenties but could be a bit older, something he said made me think he was older than he looked. His partner is pregnant though not far into pregnancy and there is a problem he is worried she might lose it. He is a fitter of some kind either shops or offices. He smokes has very short dark hair and is a slim build. They recently went to see Dirty Dancing and didn't think much of it. He has stayed in Bognor at Butlins years ago. He talks to strange women on trains.:shocking: I didn't see the programme Crit but will try and remember when they show the actual Festival of Speed in June. Fee For All 24-03-2007, 01:13 AM How old is he? Oh, here we go:laugh: I'll report you to fatloser Patsy 24-03-2007, 12:09 PM No, I only ask because the woman who I sing with is in her mid 40s, so she could theoretically be old enough, but it's looking increasingly unlikely. I'll be seeing her tomorrow, so will ask her. Fee, now would be a good time because we're not speaking. mazwad 24-03-2007, 02:19 PM Probably not the same one then Patsy as I don't think his mum was part of he performance. Coastie 04-04-2007, 12:43 PM Went and saw Starlight express the other night...Mama Coastie was not disappointed....nor was my mate...I could have taken or left it really but was mildly entertained for a short while or so... Guys and Dolls and then Flash Dance are coming up at the local theatre so could be going again soon! Patsy 04-04-2007, 03:20 PM Probably not the same one then Patsy as I don't think his mum was part of he performance. No, it's not the same one. We have a different dog now, brought in by a woman in her 50s. I asked her if it belonged to her or her son. It belongs to her and she was spotted by a cast member, walking him (he's called Jack) in the park one morning. He was sick in the wings on Monday night, during the technical rehearsal, which was nice. Coastie 02-05-2007, 04:40 AM I'm going to see 'Guys and Dolls' on Thursday night with Mama Coastie, my niece and my niece's mum. I'm really looking forward to it.:yahoo: Have heard numerous reports that Flashdance is cack so wont bother with that one now. :assshake: Coastie 07-05-2007, 07:48 AM Guys and Dolls was fabulous...the first half was a little slow but the second was amazing...I've had 'Luck be a Lady' and 'Sit Down Sit Down Your Rocking the Boat' whizzing round my head ever since...marvellous! All the girls were swooning at Nigel Harman who I didn't realise was in it until I got there  not that he does much for me... Rob 14-06-2007, 10:19 PM Just saw the schools version of Les Mis at His Majesty's - brilliant it was too (practically no different to the full version) - all under twenty one too. The place was packed - even the Gods - and they got a well deserved standing ovation at the end. |
