Fee and ILS will understand - lol. I've just discovered G4 singing "To where you are" and I love it, so keep playing it.

I got most of the G4 stuff off the internet but I missed that one until I went on a website that had it "looped" and it blew me away. It's very poignant and I'm in a bit of a sad mood today having been to a funeral which, although it was for an elderly aunt of my hubby's (and Mazza's) - it brought back a lot of painful memories.

Just bought two bargains of albums from Woolies today and they are fabby.

First one was Pink

And the second one is a compilation album (double one at that) called "Unbelievable Too" and it's got some fantastic tracks on it.
Happy Mondays, Primal Scream, Stone Roses, Shamen.
I could put the full list on it's that brill, but you'd get bored.

just spent the last couple of days at the festival for world cultures here. Fabulous music from Barcelona, many african countries, far east, irish+bluegrass/japanese/jazz A lot of drumming, esp the great big ceremonial drums and amazing visions of colour and dance. My fav was dancing cows to punjabi music, flamenco fusion and zulu choir with punk rock. So, I'll listened to lots of great music and going out for some more soon.

An audience in Islandman. At last, dying to talk about this!!! If you are in the country next August, clear a space for the last weekend for this festival because it is really exciting.
The Zulu choir sang in traditional dress unaccompanied and then were joined by a punk band (seikh, christian, rasta, muslim, jew) dhol drum merging all together to play and sing sex pistols - fantastic and what a sight. Fun Da Mental and the Mighty Zulu Nation.
From Barcelona, Ojos de Brujo gypsy, flamenco, catalan, punk rock fabulous 7 piece band with a flamenco dancer - got me bopping.
Saw so many other gigs, lots of Irish bands meeting other musical traditions, then a "ladyboys" performance which was very funny, crafts, art and food from around the world - all really good fun. Only about 200 000 so although its busy theres a lot of space so no major congestion.

That is definitely something I would try to make it over there for in the future. I love all that kind of stuff. Sounds like such a diversity of things to see and hear. We really don't have anything like that around here...so I have to just listen to that kind of music on CD sometimes or catch it on rare performances on tv....but it definitely isn't the same as hearing it live. Barbra is my absolute favourite, Fee, especially her songs in A Star is Born. Have you seen it? "Queen Bee" or "With One More Look At You"............ She's not on this album, though. They're stage versions.

My favourites are "As Long As He Needs Me" from Oliver and "Maybe This Time" (a Liza tune, but not by her) from Cabaret. Real belters. Oh, and "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Mis. Anything from Jesus Christ Superstar (which I've done). I have a phenomenal car voice.

I found someone else who knows "our" album. Can you believe it? There is another. We were blasting it out on Saturday night.

It came about when I was trying to think who the lead singer of the Finnish group reminded me of vocally. I suddenly realised it was KK and that was it. :applause:

We then went on to realise that we both loved the "Rapture" album by Anita Baker, so they boys retired rapidly from the kitchen and we catterwalled to our hearts' content.

And then on to the smoothest

Boulevard of Broken Songs which has Green Day 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' // Oasis 'Wonderwall' // Travis 'Writing to Reach You' (From 1999's The Man Who) // Eminem's 'Sing (For the Moment)' (which samples Aerosmith's "Dream On").

Right now, someone is rather annoyingly playing "Smile" by Lilly Allen, so that's what I'm listening to.

Can't stand it.

Keith Urban's "Stupid Boy" (I have someone to dedicate it to!:evilmad:) and Sugarland's "Settlin' ", as well as Taylor Hicks CD...he won 'American Idol' this past season. I got all 3 CDs for Chrimble and love them!! I've burnt copies so as not to wear the originals out!!:good:

Mate at work who I share an office with has just had delivered a BOSE acoustamas cd player. (£450 worth of radio alarm clock/cd player) so we are listening to his Air music. Currently something along the lines of Arabesque.

Smooth chilled sounds in the finest deep bodied style. To say we are chillin' would be an understatement. The post luch carb-hit is taking effect. If only I had a deep lush arm chair and a large brandy!

Oh well on with the daily graft.

Kasabian is my current favourite. I don't think there's a bad track on Empire. (http://www.kasabian.co.uk/Kleber_Empire_Player/k_player.php)

Me Plus One is my favourite.

Right now its playing "Stay the night" by Ghosts.

Its obviously a Mr Figaro download. Catchy, but a bit dull.

Roll on the next song....
