View Full Version : Tonight's show...very uncomfortable viewing
borneobabe 24-05-2006, 10:00 PM The highlights show on Channel 4 this evening - 24th May - made for very very uncomfortable viewing. There is no doubt Shabaz is a law unto himself and is without doubt a difficult person to live with, but the level of bullying and mental abuse he received this evening from that pack of baying dogs....that masquerade as housemates was an absolute disgrace. I cannot phathom why Big Brother did not intercede and bring it to a halt... this is a guy who was crumbling right under their noses and they let him take it. Lisa went bald headed for him for using up the cereal and milk... and the rest of them all joined in like the cowards they are. He could not get out the words... that actually Sezar had thrown out two bowls of cereal that he had been trying to have for breakfast. Then the tying of the belt around the patio doors so he could not get back into the house - oh my.... I was almost in tears for the fellow at this stage. Channel 4 had an entire year .... an entire YEAR.....to get this show ready for broadcast....and I think they have made some huge errors this year. Shabaz should never have been let past the psychologists interview...for his own good, and yet... the chance to have big ratings from a controversial character won out in the end over common sense and concern for the mental well being of a human being. Bonnie and Glynn should never have got past the first stage interviews... because they are like two lumps of dead wood.... how on earth did they make the final cut. The whole suitcase issue... is absolutely ridiculous. I dont blame Dawn one bit for saying she will walk if she is left without her clothes. Its degrading... and not remotely amusing. An entire year.... to come up with tasks and plans... if this is a sign of things to come...then God help us all. I think the entire Shabaz issue is far from over. Big Brother was extremely sympathetic to him as he spoke in the diary room before his exit.... major damage control time......if that guy harms himself at any stage over the coming months or year.... can you imagine how it will explode back in their faces. It could be the end of the show entirely if that happens. Hark back to BB1 and BB2... when interesting sane.. people from different background were brought together .... why oh why can they not go back to that format... instead of going for the exhibitionist freaks that now seem to dominate the screen year after year. I hope Sezar, Richard, and that fish wife Lea are very proud of themselves tonight... they were a disgrace....and I hope the public give them the reaction they deserve when it comes to their turn to exit the house. Channel 4 deserve to be inundated with complaints... I hope they listen to them.
mazwad 24-05-2006, 10:21 PM I agree the level of bullying was uncomfortable to watch and Richard taunting him with that bag of crisps through the belted door must have made him feel awful and was childish in the extreme.
I know he had behaved badly and he would have got on my nerves but I hate to see people forming gangs against one person whatever the reason, they behaved worse than schoolchildren.
So far the discussions in the house have revolved around sex and only sex none of them seem to have any depth to them.
Critique 25-05-2006, 12:46 AM As I missed the show tonight I can only conclude that the housemates were edited to look bad because from what I've seen on the live feed they were stretched to breaking point by that twerp. His antics over the past few days were enough to test the patience of a saint and as Pete quite rightly said, he kept shooting himself in the foot when anyone tried to help him.
I'm sorry I missed it now because I would have liked to have seen how it was edited to make so many people suddenly decide that Shebaz was a victim as opposed to an annoying git who wouldn't listen, take any advice, shut up for 5 minutes and who thought that chucking the housemates food out was fun.
I saw it Critters and watched loads of live feed, I don't think you would have changed your mind, I havn't.

i see what yuo are saying Crit and I do think that C4 editing has helped to make Shahbaz an object of sympathy rather than the subject of a Fatwa! All the same as BBabe says it makes for very uncomfortable viewing when that kind of pack mentality takes over.
I think it is only a short time away before Richard (who I hold responsible for the pack mentality, those who follow him are mindless morons) finds another person to victimise and demonise to the whole group. For all his "maturity and likeability" he hasn't had the balls to speak properly to Dawn about her hygiene but much prefers to make sure he is in the middle of any fervent discussion about it looking like "Mr Reasonable".

it's unbelievable isn't it! unbelievable! and yet the producers at C4 always seem to make out they are "caring people producers" when it comes to matters such as defending why they put a tourettes sufferer in there. At the end of the day they like the viewing figures they get when "lives are destroyed" (to quote Craig!!!), usually only one at a time though.
I predict this BB will be very very boring, too many young people in there who so far have just mooned about cuddling each other .... give 'em all a bucket of cold water and a personality I say!
They need to divide that house and pdq if they don't want the audience figures to drop after Shahbaz's departure.
bridge 25-05-2006, 07:56 AM It was horrible to watch, i cringed, most of them have started showing their true colours now haven't they? and it's not pretty.:evilmad:

Agreed.
I'm not condoning bullying, but I have the feeling that it was strongly edited in Shabaz's favour.
IsLe Of WeAtHeR 25-05-2006, 11:13 AM Shabaz was fully aware of what he was doing and bullying is more about innocent victims. SHabaz has been thrown out of lots of gyms in Glasgow, for example, for his lewd and unacceptable behavoir.
he is the bully, not the others:sly:

Yes there's a story in the paper today about how he is barred from 2 gyms in Glasgow because he constantly hounded the men in the saunas - gay and stright - and continually touched them and felt them up, similar to his antics in the BB house.
If this is true then he truly is an abhorrent character.

Hm takes me back twenty years when I worked as a barmaid and there was this wierd guy that used to come in. One day he decided to touch another man's penis in the gents and ended up with a broken jaw.
Dolores 25-05-2006, 04:25 PM any mother who has a young son (over about 8 years) and is out on her own with him and he needs to use a public toilet worries that someone like Shahbaz will be in there!
