I'd definitely recommend this one, as long as you can take a lot of tension. As you probably know it's about the 9/11 flight that crashed short of the White House.
It feels realistic. Unlike most US movies, this one uses a fly-on-the-wall camera tecnique so you feel you're there. No sentimentality. And no known actors, in fact some of the players are the flight controllers who were there that day.
Do see.

I really want to see this film. It has had brilliant reviews, and they havent sensationalised the story too much.
As soon as its on Sky i will be watching.

WHy not splash out a fiver and see it on a big screen - you'd get the full effect that way.

Im not a fan of cinemas. I have trouble sitting still for 5 mins, let alone a few hours.
I prefer the comfort of my own home, with a glass of wine in my hand.

It was pretty gut renching watching the airtraffic controllers slowly realising that the country was under attack, with each plane loosing contact with them and then going completly off the rader then watching the twin towers getting hit through their office window and on cnn.
But the real heart of this film was in the story of the passangers. We will all already know their story from the news coverage, but as you can imagine most of their story would have been educated guesswork, as we know none of them survived to tell the story. But many managed to phone their relatives and tell them what was going on and that is how the movie peiced together the story. It all seemed pretty accurate to me. And absolutly horrible to watch. This is mostly due to stunning acting and directing. With all the passangers herded to the back of the plane and phoning their relatives, realising the World Trade Centre had just been hit and that they were next on the list, realising that they had to do something, scrambling to find weapons, of any kind and finally charging up to the cockpit.
I believe it was done with the full support of the passenger's families and some of the actual air traffic controllers played themselves

I saw it the other week SF...it certainly gives you the shivers about flying and what was refreshing was the lack of Hollywood with in it!
They used this film to open the Tribecca film festival in NY last month and it caused a few mumurs of disapproval simply because of the nature of the film and the reason behind the film festival!
I was so with the controllers in that operations room...and it was interesting to see the faults in what had probably been seen as a easy to execute contingency plan. The story was told with no holes barred and much of the script was taken from actual transcripts taken from the day and from witnesses regards the phone calls to home. Excellent film!
Bravo...but not for those already scared of flying! :shocking:

Thanks SF for that review.
As soon as I saw an ad for this film I thought it would have been given the 'hollywood' makeover, but it seems not.
