I know not everyone likes it this hot and I hate working in it so I spent some of that hard earned cash on this and I love it. It will buggar my grass up but hey ho at least I can keep cool.

That is ace!

Had to work in it today, but we weren't busy so why the boss offered to let one of us leave I had no hesitation in leaving (what's a tenner when you can spend a day in the sun- we don't get many sunny days in Preston!)

Wow!

I've got my costume ready and I'm on my way for a dip:sun:

Oh and did you know, even if there is a hose pipe ban, you can still fill up your swimming pool!

Hello Mazwad,

Looks like you bought your own blow up swimming pool. I hope it proves to be a pleasurable summer for you.

It's lovely isn't it? I went round on Saturday when it was nearly filled to the top and the kids were in it but the water was flipping freezing so I declined to get in :) I'm going to wait till the sun's been on it for a few days and I can get in without going into cardiac arrest

Looking forward to joining you after work Mazz and floating about on one of those lilo thingies with a glass of something chilled :applause:

Maz - that looks smashing, and to say im envious is an understatement.

I wanted to buy a small swimming pool for home, but Mr.B wouldn't let me ..... he said the best he would allow was a baby pool :bored:

Its been boiling here today and I couldn't wait to get home and leap in. Its warming up nicely and very refreshing and I can skinny dip if I want as the nextdoor neighbour is on holiday.

Crit bring your cossie tomorrow and come on round especially if its as hot as today, I will be home about 3.30pm.

Fee its 24 feet long, 12 feet wide and 4 feet deep plenty big enough for a swim.

We had a smaller one last year but it was not big enough to swim in and as all the grandkids can swim now we needed a larger one. There is a bit of work to it though if anyone is thinking of doing the same as you have to get the balance of chemicals right and test it every day even if you are not using it.

The forecast is fine until Thursday so we will have a bit more use this week and the kids will enjoy it for their summer hols.

I think that's about the size of my garden

I bought a gazebo today. Christ knows why other than it was reduced to 19 squid from 50, and you just never know when it might be useful. :laugh:It's a 12' hexagon in funky pale lime with mosquito net side panels. I'm sadly excited by the whole thing.

I'll be there. I've just planted up 9 flower tubs in the front garden and my back feels like it's broken now. A bit of hydrotherapy is just what I need.

We had the busiest day so far this year yesterday...42 incidents...to put that in perspective one of the northern stations had a total 49 incidents for the entire year a few years back! :bored:

Have to say though...I loved it! :applause:

Well I've been up in a stockroom for the past five days.

No air con, no fans, and no windows open but plenty there to allow it to become a greenhouse.

And I've been climbing ladders and carrying heavy stock.

Hmph :mad2:

my friend's son has got a job in a garden centre and he is lugging great big bags of shingle and compost about ... not pleasant at all in this heat.

just think of the money, Mars!

I have one of these (without the nets) and i love it. It has been erected in my garden for about a month, and its wonderful to be able to sit in the shade .... but the rays still come through so you get a slow tan.

Oh dear!

It was lovely - just drifting around on those armchair type blow-ups, then a cool dip and more drifting around. I enjoyed it more than my holiday :D

I've been trying to talk Mr C into letting us have one (smaller of course cos I haven't got much garden) but he won't budge

I'd get one anyway, I don't do as he says :naughty: but they don't seem to do a small deep one. Once you go less than 15ft they are only about 2'6" deep, more like paddling pools.

Thanks Mazz - you might be seeing too much of me now ;)

Wish I had a swimming pool like that, the closest I've got is a small paddling pool in the shed that is not even big enough for me to lie in. If I knew for certain that this glorious weather was going to continue I would be tempted to buy something bigger but I know that if I go buy something tomorrow morning then tomorrow afternoon the heavens will open and I'll never get a chance to use it this year.

I've only just seen this Maz. That looks brilliant. I think you should buy me one. :sun:

Anyone fancy gate-crashing Maz's joint when she's at work and we can have a pool party?

I could do with a dental check up PJ shame you live so far away we could have helped one another out.

It has been lovely to have this week and I am now swimming every day which must be good for my aching bones. I can get 8 full stokes in a length and 30 if swim round the outer edge. It is a bit faffy getting the cemical balance right but we haven't over chlorinated anyone yet.

So far apart from me and Mr M, my son dil and 3 grandkids, nextdoor neighbours, sons mate and family, Crit, and my best mate have all been in and its only been up and running a week.

Wowza!
Serious envy at that- it looks fab.
i'd just like a garden actually! But I have miles of coast.
Would be lovely to have a pool to dip in and out of though when ever you want.
You are going to be very popular this summer Maz!
