So Malaysia banned botox today.
Turns out it might contain pig products.
Not sure if this is tragic, amusing, or right for the wrong reasons. Need to chew it over.

Has anyone on here ever tried botox? i would love to be line free but the thought of having that poison in my body, you don't know what could happen in later years, we could all turn into Keith Richards!

What the scientists might find 10 years down the line is what would put me off.
I have a few lines of my forehead, and if i knew it was 100% safe i would perhaps save up .... but the fact you need it 'topping up' every few months makes it not worth the money. If it were a safe one off i might consider it. Also - in 10 years time, you might wake up one morning and leave your face on the pillow ... noone really knows what the long term effects will be.
It was the same with cillcone implants that millions of women had. 20 years after having them done they were told they could leak and that there bodies would have poisons running around them that were majorly dangerous. Suddenly every woman with fake boobs had them changed to safer implants.
Could the same happen with botox ?

I don't know about anyone else but i could'nt have a boob job, the thought of those round silicone thingy's being put inside me makes me feel sick, i honestly would rather have jugs down to my knees and be natural, than have alien silicone inside my body.
I know it sounds mad but i would worry they would blow up and explode on the plane!
i do think i would benefit from a boob job after two kids their not as perky as they once were but hey i'm happy to sling um over my shoulder.

I would think about Botox if I had heaps of disposable income. But I don't. I don't think I'd feel particulalry worried by it in the same way I wouldn't be worried about having my tonsils out - I just tend to trust the medical profession where I'm concerned (I'm a bit more pro-active when it comes to my little boy).
That said, I see you're point Bonnie, it's entirely possible that could happen but I think a lot of people have the same "it'll be fine" attitude as me and probably don't even give potential future side affects a second thought.
Bridge - I'd never have implants but I think they can just hoick them up a bit with a few stitches or something (I could be wrong) I would definately consder doing that if I had the cash. Maybe they could stick them under my chin, then if I ever reproduce again they could slip down to the right place :D

I feel the same as Samm, if I had loads of cash, I'd be tempted to try it - I'm approaching 40 this year and I'm noticing it.
I'm still gorgeous of course, natch :bag:
Even if I had pots of cash, I don't think I could do botox. I would be too worried I would end up disfigured, and even more moose like. Nah not for me, but thenI was 30 before I dared to highlight my hair:(
