So where should Molly Campbell end up - with her mother in Scotland (as determined by the British courts) or with her father in Pakistan (as she appears to wish)? And will the right decision be reached the right way?

Difficult one I think. Most 12 year old girls would at some point describe life with their mother as 'living hell' and part of me thinks that 12 is too young for her to make a decision involving such different life-styles.
However, it is odd that the elder sister has already opted to live with the father, and I suspect there is perhaps more to life with mother than we are hearing.

LOL I must admit that was my first thought - Adolescent Girl Falls Out With Mother Shock :D
But yes, it's interesting the older sister is in Pakistan too, and it seems the brother isn't quite on the mother's wavelength either.
I read somewhere that the mother married this Rana guy at 16 and converted to islam at the time. Doesn't sound an ideal set of decisions to make at such a young age.

And, being a tolerant sort of individual, not given to stereotyping, I have to say that the mother looked a right slapper on the telly

Oh so someone who looks like a slapper in your opinion is obviously a bad mother then?

No - the comment also relates to the discussion in the Muslim thread about making assumptions.
