Has anyone else been playing the Cluedo game online at www.cluedo.com? I saw it advertised on TV and it's not bad.
It's on it's 3rd week, but I only found it last week so you can still play the previous parts of the game.

It's not bad - if anyone knows of similar games online I'd be interested to give them a go too.

These "escape-the-room" type games should keep you busy Mink! Kind of the same idea, looking for clues etc:

I had a go at it Mink - got 7510 so far - haven't a clue "who done it" just taking wild guesses. Gone as far as I can go now til the next bit.

How did you get on?

I've got 8319 or something, so far :pimp:
But like you Crit, I'm just taking wild guesses without sitting and thinking about it properly!

Well done you PJ - I think the top score was 9500 or 9050 so you must have done well.

I think if you take it seriously it's a pen and paper job and jot down who was said to be where, etc. Scrolling down the list of clues doesn't help me much cos I've forgotten by the time I get to the end :D

Did you find anything to charge the mobile phone up with? or is that in the next bit that you can't get to yet do you think?

No didn't find anything. Must be in the next bit (hopefully!)

Thanks PJ. I was very slow on the fingerprint puzzles and also the billiards game - had to do them all twice so I guess I lost points for that :ninja:

Something else to get addicted too!!! I can't move the cat, can't get work out what the problem is with the hot & cold tap in the kitchen!

I've only got about 4500!

Bella
12-10-2006, 09:44 AM
Ahhh, just found the watering can so got the taps sorted out!

Bella

Just got promoted to Ace Detective and have 7160 points - still can't move that damn cat, open up the bookcase and find out more about that rodent thing in the cellar!

Critique

Those are the things I'm stuck on Bella so hopefully there'll be something in the last room that will make it all become clear. :)

I'm guessing there'll be some cheese which will tempt a rodent and then the cat will chase it thus freeing up the pile of books, maybe.

I can't move the cat, sort out the rodent thing, or get rid of the picture of Miss Scarlet, or the dagger mounting. I'm on 8200 at the mo and am stuck!

Dammit! It didn't save the changes from my latest visit and now I've got a whole chunk to do again. Grr......

I am presuming that is someone stops lighting up when you hover over them, this means there are no more questions to ask. However, I have a page of the diary about Col Mustard and it won't let me ask anyone about it.

Maybe the answer lies in the Study, but it won't let me get in there yet. This is so frustrating! :ranting:

My cat disappeared, but I got no points, and I don't know what I did

Crit, I've been trying to free up the cheese board in the dining room.

Bella

Has anyone got into the locked bookcase in the library? My cat's still there, I still have Scarlett's photo, still have Peacock's scarf even though I have asked questions about it, the dagger & dagger mount, the rope, the candlesticks and the blasted mobile phone with uncharged batteries!

And Pats, I have the same problem with the manuscript for Colnel mustard!

Critique

The only difference with me Bella is that my rope has gone (must have disappeared when I questioned someone about it). Wonder when the next part will be ready. I rushed in and started it without reading it thoroughly - did it say it was in weekly parts once you had caught up with it? Can't remember. Seems there's only the study left to get into.

Oh and my dagger has gone the same way as the rope I presume so perhaps you need to ask everyone about them.

They must have just put out the next episode cause I've just got into the study:applause:

Oh, I just took a wild guess because I wanted to exit the game and I think that's it  I don't think there is any more. I ended up with a score of 10390 so I haven't got any chance because the highest score is in the 12000s- but it was fun playing it.

My total score was 10690.
Ranked 681 in the UK and 2138 in the world!

I ended up taking a guess really.

But if you have a second e-mail address, you can log in under a different name and do it all again.
Terms and conditions say you can do this, but if you end up winning 2 prizes or more you can only claim one. (As if I'd win anything anyway:laugh: )

Well done Andrea and thanks for the information - I might just have another go and do it seriously this time. I couldn't do that snake game - had to get my grandson to do it for me  Well, they play it on their mobiles don't they :D

Have you got the safe open yet Fee? Do you need a hint?

 I got the code (the date?), but then I lost the option to enter the code into the safe.

Right, done that now.

I'm left with a ring, scarf, candles, dagger mounting and picture. No-one seems to know anything about any of them and Plum and Mustard are re-activated.

I'm stumped!

I'd best get in there and have a go now that the study is open......so far I've been doing ok, but not getting anywhere near the top scores.

Andrea - you must be quite a detective with a score like that!!

PJ - thanks for the link, I'll give that a try :)

Sorry Coastie - I got my wordgame topscore back (for the moment!)

PLUM ARRESTED FOR MURDER
Inspector Brown and Detective me catch Dr Black’s killer after a four week investigation.

Professor Plum, a respected archaeologist and historian used a secret passage to enter the doctor's study, then struck his victim several times with a heavy silver candlestick. The evil academic attempted to frame his former lover - aspiring actress and model Miss Josephine Scarlett (21) - by planting fake evidence throughout Tudor Mansion. Plum appears to have been motivated by jealousy - he believed Black was about to propose to Scarlett.
Professor Peter Plum, yesterday

That's the damn truth... I was wrong

Well, I got this e-mail through today...

Dear Star Detective,

Thanks to your great police work you've made it to the highest rank. To be in with the chance of winning the star prize of a week's holiday to San Francisco, simply answer the following tie-breaker in no less than 5 words.

The name of this Cluedo case should be....?

All entries must be submitted at cluedo.com and need to be received by 2 November and the winner will be informed no later than 16 November.

See you on the next case!

Yours

Inspector Brown.

Out comes my new rhyming dictionary and over to the comping website I go on for inspiration for the tie-breaker.:w00t:

My tiebreaker was cr@p too so I think that's the last I'll hear of it :D

Andrea
05-11-2006, 01:55 PM
So what did you put for the tie-breaker/title?

Now that the closing date is over, how about revealing what you put!

Have a laugh at mine...

"Murder on the Internet express"

What did others put, we may have a winner on here you know!

Minklemar

Please bear in mind that by the time I picked up the email about the tie-breaker is was the last dat for entries so I didn't have much time.......I'm quite embarassed by how bad mine is:

"A Dark Day for Dr Black"

Critique

Compared to mine yours were brilliant. I kept thinking about it and came up with nothing until I realised it was desperately close to the final day so I just banged in "Black Death at Tudor Mansion"

If I'd thought there was any chance of me winning I might have tried a bit harder but I was pretty sure that it was all very "random" because I don't even think that I guessed the right person

Bella
06-11-2006, 02:50 PM
Love your one Andrea!! I forgot all about this so bang goes my chance of winning a holiday!

You'll need to get your guessing hat on again for a real live Cluedo investigation, check this out?

It really isn't any worse than my rather pathetic "Death of a Doctor", which just sounds as though no thought went into it whatsoever. Guess I'm not going to San Francisco then. :bag:
