Irish telly showed the first episode of series three last night. Looked quite good actually, though didn't get the 'tale of two citie' reference....

I've seen the first 4 eps now and all I can say is that it gets "curioser and curioser". Still good though - it's holding my interest anyway.

I thought the Tale of Two Cities was a loose reference to where they crashed and where the action is now taking place (although not exactly "cities") maybe?

I don't think that's a spoiler, by the way, because it's obvious from the ending of the second season that they were going to be taken somewhere other than back to the beach where they crashed.

Aye that upset me too - that's all the tailies gone now - unless you count Bernard!

Me too! I had grown really fond of Eko. I am more confused than ever with Lost now as it seems to have gone off a different tangent to what the first series had started but I'll still watch as it's become like an addiction, you know that you would be better off without but you just can't resist it!

It's all so confusing isn't it? Why all the cruelty and devisive methods just to get Jack to operate on Ben? He could have just asked, surely?

Last night's episode was brilliant - I won't give anything away if you haven't seen it - but it was mostly about Desmond.

It was good but so confusing with flashbacks and flashforwards  I still don't understand it or see how they are going to tie everything in but I'm definitely still hooked.

Sorry but I really didn't understand Desmond's episode last night. Anyone care to give an 'idiot's guide'?

My guess is that he is a Time-lord and we are actually watching Dr Who!

At first I just thought it was because he could see into the future that he saw the island and what was about to happen but then when he went to buy the ring it blew that theory right out the water.
I will just have to keep watching and hopefully it will all come together and we`ll all go "of course".....

To be honest Bella, that's how I'm viewing it these days, like a Doctor Who type series. I'm not looking for answers and just accepting it as a "fantasy" thing. It's all gone far beyond any logical explanation (imho) so I'm not really expecting one. I like the characters and the way it unfolds a bit more each week and that's as far as it goes with me.

To be shonset, I don't think the writers even know what they're doing anymore and just making it up as they go along.
I really hope that all these character connections (http://tviv.org/Lost/Character_Connections) are explained and not just brushed under the carpet. (read them - I'd forgotten about a lot of them!)

Ooh, interesting PJ - don't think I saw half of them or probably just forgotten? Didn't Anna-Lucia have a connection with Jack's father too? And what was the connection with the psychic that Claire went to see? Was he Anna-Lucia's father? Or was it Jack's father who had the connection there? There was something wasn't there?

Ahh- edited to say that Christian Shepherd is Jack's father! DUH!!!

And what was the connection with the psychic that Claire went to see?

It was him who persuaded Claire to get on the plane to LA.
He then popped up again as the father of the girl that who drowned but then came back to life that Mr Eko was investigating.

Also, Hurley was commited to the mental institution following an accident where he stepped out onto the deck of a boat causing it to collapse, killing 10 people or something. Remember how Libby told told Desmond in one of his flashbacks that her husband was killed in a boat accident? well I think he was one of the ones that died when Hurley went out onto the deck - hence Libby being in the mental institution too (although I may be totally wrong and reading too much into it...)

The one thing I really love about this programme is all the connections with other people and themselves it`s just remembering them all
