Yeah, cos he is severely lacking in both but I do have to say I am rather taken with his dulcet (sp?) tones! He does have a lovely gravely voice!

I am a sucker for nice voices though and I do remember when I worked at the finance companay this guy phoned up for a loan and he sounded so sexy...... I couldn't wait until he came for his loan close but when he turned up I was disappointed..........for those of you who are old enough, remember Shadrack with parker ( I can't remember who it was who done him) who used to go on about his tales of woe, and how he got a shoe for his Christmas....well he looked like him and he even had a parker on, and specs that were held together with masking tape!

David is just a great guy, yeah he may have a selfish streak but don't we all sometimes. I love the way he drops in names like Ray Charles just popped round to his dinner party that he & Whitney Houston were hosting - I do believe that everyone that he has met.....and liked in the jungle will become firm friends with David. And it is rather sweet that he hasn't slagged off Liza Minella and has nothing but good to say about her.

I think David Gest has a lot of qualities that would normally make me want to scream, but he has such charm and a dry sense of humour, he can get away with things.

Yes he is selfish and expects to be waited on, yes he is slightly sexist and probably believes a womans place is in the kitchen - however, you get the feeling that if you were to ask, he would go to the ends of the earth to help you out of a problem, such is his generosity and kindness.

And from hearing him talk, I truly believe he loved Liza Minnelli dearly. Her alcoholism must have been a nightmare to cope with.

On the debit side, even though his made-up stories are entertaining when told to the group with a deadpan expression, have you noticed he sometimes corners one person and delivers a tale with the same deadpan delivery. If that was me on the receiving end I'd have to let him know he was making a serious mistake.

I think its hilarious and a credit to Sultan David that he has everyone in his thrall and has them fetching and carrying for him. Having said that I am sure he is a loyal friend and will invite everyone to one of his famous celebrity parties in LA.

Yes I know what you mean SF. There's a fine line between telling a tall story with a deadpan expression for the groups obvious entertainment, and then cornering someone individually and presuming they are tw*t enough to fall for what he is saying.

He did it with Jan Leeming re the shaggging/one night stand pish take. Jan (of course) took it seriously and got all headmistressy but if he'd have done it to someone a little more self aware, they couldve turned it around on him and made him out to be the fool instead, thereby teaching him a little lesson.

Have to say I do still like him, but he has his faults (but not as many as serial bosher Gaffney the Reptile, Malandra of the donkey bray laugh, Scott waspish bi!tch Henshall and arrogant, vile Phina).....

Actually, ive gone off David a little bit too. I said this to Mr.B last night. He has gone from fun loving to moany. Exactly Bonsai! I thought it odd when he gave his dinner away yesterday with the mashed potatoes. I mean he cant be that hungry can he. I know they say they have lost weight but they dont seem to look any skinner not like last year, David Dickinson for example looked very gaunt, perhaps it is true what they are saying in the papers that they are feeding them chocolate!

As far as I'm concerned it's a bummer he's out - the final won't be nearly as interesting!

I think 4th place was the best thing for David. I'm sure he's not that bothered and Jan said both she and David wanted one of the younger ones to win. I'll be happy with any of the remaining 3 and in way it makes it more interesting because, really, who can predict who will win now?

It was only in the third week that it started to wear thin with me when he moaned about the food and didn't help around the camp. It was funny at first and I wanted him to win. He made the show though with his stories and was very entertaining. According to the Sunday Mirror he is looking for an English wife - is there anyone that could put up with his snoring though!!
