View Full Version : Anyone know anything about Frankfurt?
Tigereye 03-01-2007, 11:19 AM Gotta go next week for Urk's brothers birthday. Have already booked cheapo flights with Ryanair, but have discovered that their airport, Hahn, is no more Frankfurt than I am. Apparantly it's over 120 odd miles away with no rail connection.
So don't know whether to dump the tickets and pay again for flights direct to Frankfurt. Anyone know this neck of the woods?
fanks.
Patsy 03-01-2007, 12:55 PM It's in Germany. :good:
HTH.
mikado 03-01-2007, 05:47 PM Frankfurt is mostly famous for inventing a kind of sausage that you boil in this plastic bag thingy.
Other than that, according to the Hahn Airport Website (http://www.hahn-airport.de/default.aspx) the bus to Frankfurt takes 1 hour and 45 minutes, and costs 12 Euro each way. However on the plus side, the airport has an "Erotic Shop" which might be handy for last minute birthday gifts. Or not.
Bumsenauf.

Poster of the Week
:D Not any more :D
Anyway, who's to say people didn't have your previous take on POTW in mind? ;)
Patsy 03-01-2007, 08:15 PM I know! That concept couldn't really be adopted here though, could it? The same few old faces would crop up all the time.
survivorfan 04-01-2007, 09:54 AM They don't use slow cookers there so take your own, best to check the voltage and plug type first though.
Tigereye 04-01-2007, 10:43 AM I am bringing my own slow cooker. Think you met him a few years back.

How do you know they don't use slow-cookers SF? I am sure the Frankfurters have chopped up a few sausages, popped them in the slow-cooker before going about their daily business.
Here is a traditional German recipe cooked in a slow cooker:

Sorry TE for going off topic and have only been to Germany once, and it was near Dusseldorf.
Have a blast anyway, I am sure it will be fun!
Patsy 04-01-2007, 03:44 PM You shouldn't need to take your own towels - they've got them everywhere.
survivorfan 05-01-2007, 08:55 AM Best to dress like the locals so you don't stand out and attract unnecessary attention, suggest lederhosen and a green waistcoat for Urk and a dirndl for Tigereye.

Tigereye 05-01-2007, 03:04 PM After deliberations Urk has agreed to wear the dirndle, as I love leather.
