IS anyone here self-employed? This year is my first tax return and OMG, it's all very complicated!

I am so much more organised for this year's return as I have all my income and expenses on a fab wee spreadsheet that will take me no time at all to fill in come September.

I am going to do it on-line but it has taken me ages to get thing together, and I just hope the taxman doesn't come looking for me as my 2005/2006 paperwork is a right dog's dinner!

I am definitely going to do one of the coures that the government has set-up for simple people like me to get their head round the rather complicated form!

Thing is there is about 15 pages and I only fill in a handful of boxes!

Mr. B is self employed and needs to do a tax return ... but he is lazy and pays someone to do it for him.

He does all the spreadsheets himself on Excel and makes sure everything adds up with his bank statements, and all receipts are attached etc .. He then passes it all onto his accountant, who does the actual return.

It costs him about £80, and he thinks its well worth it.
