She seems to get mentioned a lot but can't find a thread for her.

Does anyone feel a little bit sorry for her?

Yes, she's as thick as a plank but she was brought up among people exactly like her and she really didn't know any better.

Since her "celebrity" status she's now been around people who know how to speak properly and behave in public, etc. and she's started to realise that there is still a class distinction. I think she is doing her best to better herself (OK maybe her best isn't much but I think she's at least trying) but she's now in the unenviable position of being embarrassed by her own family.

I felt quite sorry for her when she was crying in the Diary Room and saying that she should be loyal to her mum but she was "doin' me 'ead in".

I suppose I sympathise with her because I know how it feels to be in that position. Brought up in the London slums but then going to grammar school and realising the great divide between what I was used to and what others considered normal.

Ignorance is bliss but as soon as you start being aware of the differences, it's really difficult. I didn't have her £8 million to soften the blow for me though. That might have helped a bit ;)

So that's why you kept going to tug your forelock whenever you were spoken to, Crit. :wink2:

I felt like giving her a big cuddle when she was having a go at Mad Ken for making himself something to eat the other day. He knew exactly what he was doing and he could see she was getting upset, so he just continued to patronise her with the usual "it's a game" type comment. But then she felt really bad and apologised for shouting at an old man.

Bless her. Thick as breeze block, but a strong sense of right and wrong and doesn't mind who she voices it to. Good for her.

Jade Goody is a piece of rubbish! ... end of! :ninja:

why is the whole house (or the coverage we're being shown at any rate) revolving round a woman who hasn't even got a basic grasp of english?

25th most inflouenshial person in the world - my **** - what world is she living in?!

I don't think she's a piece of rubbish - she's just a product of ... well you've seen first hand what she's a product of haven't you?

I think she's as bemused by her celebrity status as the rest of us.

I don't even think she's been given excessive air time, compared to Leo and Dirk who can bore for England.

I'm not over keen on her but not having seen her in anything before, I thought she'd be much worse from what I'd heard about her.

I don't agree with this at all. She could've gone into obscurity like almost every other HM there's been. She's really not as daft as she makes out. She loves being a 'celeb'.

I can't forget what a bully she was to Sophie when she was in the BB house. I really don't think we've seen her at full throttle yet.

As for her treatment of Ken and then apologising - she's doing it for the camera.

Please people, don't be fooled!

I've woken up with a guilty feeling at calling Jade a peice of rubbish!! :bag: She's not a piece of rubbish at all. In her favour she is a very loyal and good daughter.

... but don't you worry Maxine I haven't been fooled I also think there is a lot more foulness to come from Jade - wait til Jack goes tonight - I think if anything he is a calming influence on her.

Jade is growing on me. Yes she is savvy, and yes she has made a fortune off the back of BB and her lack of brain.

But, can you imaging having THAT as a mother ??? In other clips of shows they have done together (like Extreme Makeover etc) they do have a relationship where shouting one another down is the norm. Thats how she has been brought up, and perhaps doesnt know any better.

I too would be mortified if Jackiey were my mother. She has the mental age of a 10 year old.

I don't think the other HMs went into obscurity through choice though, do you? I think they were just either badly managed or too dull and boring to do anything else. I'm sure she does love being a celeb but what I meant was that she's surprised by her own success.

I don't know the full Jade story because, as I said, I didn't watch her previous BB appearance and hadn't really seen or heard much about her apart from a few TV adverts but she's obviously done well on the back of it.

Maybe I'm being blinkered but I thought she was genuinely upset that Ken was ruining the task for the others and that her apology seemed sincere. It will be interesting to see if she is really such a nasty person and, if so, how long she can keep up the act.

I still think that if Jack goes she'll just walk. I don't think she'll stay in the house with her embarrassing mother and worry about what he's up to on the outside. She didn't like the house divide and now they're all back together she seems a bit isolated and I don't think she's enjoying this CBB experience at all. She keeps saying she's fed up and wants to go home. I won't be a bit surprised to see her walk out.

A bit off topic but I'm wondering if this year's CBB will see a record number of "walk-outs". Leo's either going to walk or get booted out and Jermaine said if Leo and Dirk go he won't stay. Shilpa can't wait to get back to her luxury lifestyle either.

What's the previous record for walk-outs? Anyone know?

I kinda like Jade.

There, I said it.

I think she's a survivor, and I admire that.

Jade Goody has had a terrible upbringing. I think she would definitely had been better off with a foster family. Jade's appalling lack of education and diction isnt because she is stupid, but its because she was rarely allowed to attend school, such was the nomad life and poor upbringing she got.

She was rolling spliffs for her mother at the age of five, much to her Mums amusement. Her mother mixed with prostitutes and other drug users and its evident that Jackiey is a mite brain damaged from her decades of heroin abuse and therefore Jade had to bring herself up (and from reading her autobiography, acted as a parent to her own Mother).

Considering the appalling upbringing, Jade has turned out to be a fairly canny businesswoman (with a good agent).

Okay she milks every situation dry for as much money as she can, but as she said to Carole Malone in the house, "if it all ended tomorrow, that would be fine. Im the most successful BB housemate ever and Ive made a lot of money out of it all, but if it all ended, Id have a trade to go back to - either my old job as a dental nurse or a beauty therapist - which I trained for, went to college and passed my exams. I wouldnt have a problem working again for a living, but a lot of BB housemates would see it as beneath them. I wouldnt"

Last nights highlights made me feel terribly sorry for her. Yet again her mother was in the middle of some idiotic fracas with some poor housemate and the camera zoomed in on Jade's face. She was staring across at her mother, deep in thought, with a look of utter despair and embarrassment. She got up suddenly, borrowed a coat and went outside into the rain. Her boyfriend followed her out some time later and asked if she was okay. Jade replied, "Sometimes, just sometimes I wish Mum would act like a Mum instead of the child. Im always getting her out of trouble, acting like a mother to my own Mum. Dont get me wrong, I dont mind being a Mum to me own kids but just..... *sigh* sometimes...."

Jack replied, "well my mum does my head in..."
Jade looked defeated and said, "its not the same though is it? At least your Mum IS a mum.... ohhh forget it...."

She might be loud, lairy, a bit of a bully and not very bright at times, but during that conversation last night, she came across as a little girl that just wanted her Mum to act like she's seen other Mums do. And she knows she'll never get it....

I am sure if the other housemates were given the chance that Jade had been given, they would have jumped at it. Jade was very marketable and everyone saw that, is it her fault that she is the most successful BB housemate?

Her upbringing is a lot to blame for the way she is and she could have ended up so different - I agree that she is a trooper and a survivor if a little misguided at times.

Jade was on the news last night ... shows what little 'real' new happened yesterday :shocking:

Apparently her new exercise video is a fake. She didnt get her new and improved body from exercising, but instead she has had lipsuction.

Well, i kinda guessed that. It wasnt long ago that she was pictured looking very lumpy indeed in a short skirt and T-shirt. Exercises (especially the ones in the vid) arent miracle workers.

Just out of interest, is Jade and the rest of the Goody clan actually in the competition. I mean, theoretically, could they win the programme?

I thought they were put n the house just to wind up the rest of the celebrity guests.

I don't know why, but I don't really like the idea of Big Brother contestants becoming celebrities and then becoming Big Brother contestants again.

They had their chance once before. Why give them another one?

No me neither. Look at the way she treated that girl in BB3 (Sophie was it?) - she made her stay in the house totally miserable.
And now she seems to be starting on Shilpa and Dirk.

To me, she will always be a nasty, vindictive, thick bully. I can only hope and pray that this latest stunt in the BB house will finally put an end to her 'career'.

In some ways she has grown up, but then she gets drunk and becomes the same old Jade as before - someone who is always up for a fight, aggressive, rude, quick to alienate others and bullying. As I said before, she has had an horrific upbringing, but you really cant excuse her behaviour sometimes.

I totally agree but the others either seem to be in thrall to her or scared of her, she didn’t get one single nomination last time. I didn’t have much of an opinion of her before but I detest her now, her ugly mug is really making me want to switch channels.

I wonder.

As others have pointed out elsewhere... there are indications that Jade may be instrumental in another BB "surprise" still to come.

E.G. Carole & Cleo up for nomination for discussing nominations yet.... Jade, who didn't vote, and in case anyone missed it has verbally bragged about not voting, has NOT been penalised for not voting despite it being against the rules.

Such selective enforcement of their own rules suggests that Jade COULD be playing a different game to the rest of them.

Time will tell.

Possible twist?

Pop any information into the Spoilers thread please, Repetition :good:

Going back to Jade, I think Ive just suddenly realised something. The reason I thought she had matured, appeared more respectful and pleasant had a lot to do with the fact that up against Jackiey, Jade looks like Mother Teresa. With Jackiey gone, all of Jade's bullying, aggressiveness is there to see.

Dolores
15-01-2007, 04:44 PM
when Jackiey was in the house Jade had something to worry about and was fretting that Jackiey was either upsetting people or people were going to upset Jackiey (she is, as I have said a loyal daughter). Also she could play the victim as "product of bad parent" and that made her seem more vulnerable. Now Jackiey has gone, Jade can show her true colours.

... we weren't fooled for a minute were we Max!!!!

It wasn't information.... merely speculation. Just guessing what goodies (sad pun intentional) CH4 might have planned. Seemingly, if it favours Jade, it's in.

I've just heard on the radio that Jade has been dropped by an anti-bullying charity for her treatment of Shilpa in the house. Good.

I used to be a fan of Jade, I could forgive some of her behaviour because of her pure entertainment value and naivety. Now though, four years on and having been made fully aware of her public persona, there's no excuse for her treatment of Shilpa whatsoever.

I think she needs to be booted out on her bum post haste.

Something has got to give in that house, like a larger than life character coming in or a surprise eviction, this constant bullying and slagging off Shilpa has got to come to a head, I am not watching day after day of this stuff, its not entertainment or enjoyable watching by any stretch of the mind. If the dynamics don’t change by tonight’s programme I will no longer be watching.

Indeed.... "stale" doesn't even begin to describe it... and I'm only enduring a few minutes of live broadcast when I get back from work (by which time most of them are asleep) and what people upload to Youtube.

Why, oh why, has it been SOOOOOOOOOOO very long since the last eviction? When they finally get around to the next one - PLEEEEEEEZZZZEE let it be one of the trio, pref' Dani - and if it is I sincerely hope to see a hail of eggs, rotten fruit and veg zeroing in on her. I'm usually opposed to that kinda thing.... but I've made an exception for those plankton.

While there may be an argument as to whether they're racist or not.... there no doubt whatsoever that they've shamed the HUMAN race. Any aliens tuning in to this year's CBB aren't even going to warn us if we're in the way of some intergalactic bypass if they think we're all like that.
