Whilst I in no way condone racism in any form, I have to ask the question...on the edit last night Shilpa was seen to take the pi$$ out of the way Jo said the word 'whale', she stated she could not understand what Jo was saying, and later sat with Dirk and Jermain laughing about it and mimicking her.

How many people will ring and complain about this?

I don’t know whether any of the three witches are actually racist – watch Jade squawk in protest that “her dad was black” (he is mixed race), they are just nasty pieces of work. The dreadful Jackay started all this in referring to “that injun” and Jo’s mimicking of her Mumbai accent is just totally unacceptable in the 21st century. I work for the civil service and if I did that mimicking an Asian colleague, I would be severely disciplined and would probably face dismissal for serious misconduct. I hope all their “careers” crash and burn after this unpleasant episode.:angry:

The people who watch the live feed are saying that Jack called Shilpa a "paki" and although C4 bleeped the word. C4 are denying that he used that word, but lipreaders of DS seem sure that he did.

Working for the Civil service you would get fired if you said you liked your coffee black. what you are talking about is fear of being held liable and not racism. Middle class indignation aint the issue.

Well, for starters Ant & Dec would not behave like that and have never to my knowledge have they been seen bullying anyone.

Jade has history of bullying, she bullied Sophie - even Danielle admitted that she had had words with her but now they are all best friends..........talk about shallow!

I am sure if Ant & Dec were in the house and they behaved in the manner of Jade etc, people would complain but as I have said it's not their manner is it?

This is what i think. Jade and Co dont seem to know that what they are saying is (at times) bordering on racism. They are too dense to realise.

I dont have a massive problem with the perceived racism ... although i might do very soon if they continue. What i have a problem with is the bullying.

If one of the girls had a disagreement with Shilpa, fine. It happens in a confined space. It would be raised, there might of been an arguement ... and then its all forgotten. But its the three of them, sitting their rubbing their hands with glee talking about her in a derogatory way and picking her up on every tiny thing.

Danielle and Jo seem content to b*itch amongst themselves .... but Jade, who thinks she is the Queen Contestant always has to bring it up to Shilpa, making her feel low and picked on.

I have an Irish accent and if someone kept mimicing it in a derogatory way, yes I would feel it was racist.

I don't see the accent mimicking as racist - I've heard Shilpa mimick both Jade's and Jo's accents so if they are being racist then so is she.

I'm with you Minks, although I haven't seen as much footage as many of you. What I have seen is bitchy and narrow minded to say the least, but not racist.

In answer to IoW's last question, I have no doubt that Shilpa and her friend would discuss the other housemates between themselves, in the same way as Shilpa/Jermaine/Cleo/Dirk are, but they would do it in a lot more considered, intelligent and intelligible manner. Shilpa has more class in the bit they chopped off during her nose job than those other 3 will ever have. Yes, she's an actress; yes, she has been spoiled in many ways, but her manners and the way she conducts herself generally cannot, imo, be brought into question in the same way as Jadedanjo's can.
