I love the Baftas and the Oscars but always record them so I can run through the boring parts. Am disappointed that Ellen DeGeneres is hosting it though. Really hope that Scorsese and Whitaker and Mirren come away with an Oscar

My nominations are...

Best picture
The Departed - thought this was excellent!

Best director
Paul Greengrass, United 93 - put the fear of flying into me it seemed so real...alhtough I would love for Martin Scorsese to finally pull it off!

Best actor
Forest Whitaker, The Last King of Scotland - the olnly reason to watch this film...although I think Will Smith may bag it!

Best actress
Judi Dench, Notes on a Scandal - it's Judy..she's fab!

Best supporting actress
Abigail Breslin, Little Miss Sunshine - a cracking performance!

Best supporting actor
Djimon Hounsou, Blood Diamond - he's just very, very good!

Best foreign language film
El Laberinto del Fauno (aka Pan's Labyrinth), Mexico - I'd be suprised if this doesn't bag it!

Best animated feature film
Happy Feet - will win but for me it should be Flushed Away that doesn't even get a mention! Sooooooo wrong!

Best adapted screenplay
The Departed - pure grit

Best original screenplay
Babel - torn between this and Letters to Iwo but will go with this.

Best music (score)
The Queen - go Queenie

Best music (song)
Listen - Dreamgirls (performed by Beyonce Knowles) - not a fan of hers but think she'll get it!

Best documentary feature
An Inconvenient Truth - has to be

Best documentary short subject
Recycled Life - haven't seen any of these but like the title!

Best visual effects
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - should get it but I did like Superman.

Best cinematography
The Prestige - thisas actually beautifully shot...naff story though.

Best art direction
Pan's Labyrinth - a foriegn film may just get it!

Best animated short film
No Time for Nuts - not seen any of 'em but again love the title.

Best short film
The Saviour - erm...I have no idea.

Can't stand Ellen Degenerate!

Hope Scorsesee finally bags a best directing Oscar although I think he has made better films.

Prefer the Baftas by far to the Oscars as it's less political and more about the real talent.:good:
