View Full Version : Life On Mars
Seabreeze 03-02-2007, 07:02 AM Anyone watch the first series?
They have said this will definately be the conclusion/final series. If they manage to make it as good as the first one was then not only are we in for a treat but they'll go out on a high, much better than so many series which go on 2 or 3 years past thier sell by date.
I'm really looking forward to it too, will he be trapped there forever, will he shag one of his relatives and become his own uncle, do they switch off life support at this end of the time line and if so would he die imediately or would it take 30 years for him to pop his clogs. The only thing I hope for is that it isnt all explained away at the end by a silly 'oh it was just a dream' episode.

I agree this programme is brilliant I am really looking forward to the second series.
It just makes you cringe looking at the kipper ties, flares, tank tops and every man and his gov smoking.
Ps my flares are up in the loft :)
Haydon 06-02-2007, 04:56 PM I can't wait for the new series to start. I LOVED the first. I just wish there were more Capri's in it! :)
Pandora 06-02-2007, 05:26 PM Loved it. It was brilliantly written and you really want John Simm's character to get back to his own time.
I love the politically incorrect Detective Inspector (who refers to himself as the Gene Genie....) lol....
IsLe Of WeAtHeR 16-02-2007, 12:33 PM wow that first ep of series 2 was darker than a marmite and coal sandwich:shocking: (on black lava bread).
Seabreeze 16-02-2007, 12:38 PM Yup, a fantastic episode to plunge us into series 2. Went right back to the magic of the first series. Love all the 70`s music as well
Bonsai 16-02-2007, 12:48 PM I hadnt seen this before, although i kicked myself when i heard the good reviews of the last series. So i tuned in, and i thought it was great.
Bella 16-02-2007, 04:04 PM I just love how un PC the whole thing is! It is more darker than the first series and I just wonder what it is that Sam has to do before he gets back!
Tuesday nights was a bit of a crap night for TV, so this will fill the void!
Haydon 14-03-2007, 05:53 PM oh I don't want this to finish. Last night's episode was brilliant.
So a vol-au-vont (sp) is like a pie then?! :)
Tony Blair goes to a swingers party and then introduces his friend Gordon!! lol had me chuckling away.
Plus it had a capri in it last night.
Heard that DCI Gene Hunt's cortina is up for sale on Ebay to raise money for Comic Relief. I can't find the listing though.

Punkyfish 16-03-2007, 02:30 PM Tony Blair goes to a swingers party and then introduces his friend Gordon!! lol had me chuckling away..
Tony and Cherie Blair was a classic. I just loved the pineapple and cheese hedgehog, I remember making those myself! Who was the group that featured through most of the last episode, its really bugging me and it didnt say on the credits. :cool1:
Seabreeze 16-03-2007, 03:25 PM I also loved
Gene: The law, the law!!!!
*everyone ducks*
Sam: Hang on, we ARE the law
Seabreeze 21-03-2007, 04:59 AM Excellent start this week. I am glad they are going to end it before it gets stale but I will miss this programme
Patsy 21-03-2007, 09:53 AM Me too, Seab. I was saying to Mr P last night that this programme ticks so many boxes. A funny, action filled drama with a different story line each week, but with an unfolding plot running through the whole series; great music and a nod to well-loved police dramas of yesteryear.
He just glanced at me, gave me a blank look and returned to his viewing. Facist.
