I agree, Zoe was RUBBISH!
Although, I'm pleased Mel was saved over Tim!

It was a close call for him last night though wasn't it! I have to say I think he is quite sweet though, not sexy, but sweet. I don't think he will win but he has done well so far.
who got voted out last night ?
Comedian Mel Giedroyc

Critique 14-03-2007, 07:03 PM Please could somebody explain this Celeb Fame Academy to me.
Last night it was on in the usual Eastenders time slot which I hadn't realised so I started watching.
As far as I can make out (not having seen it from the beginning) it's a group of mostly unknowns (to me anyway) with the most awful singing voices imaginable (and presumably we're now seeing the best, so I can only imagine what the worst were like :surrender: ) who are doing this to raise money for comic relief? They're not looking for a singing career (just as well) but doing it for charity.
So why the **** was Tara Palmer-Tomkins weeping buckets? Why are they all taking it so seriously?
It was so bad I had to tune in tonight to see if it could get any worse and yes, it could
I'm not knocking them because they're doing it for charity but I just don't get it. They must know they can't sing or are they deluded enough to think they can?
Northern angel 16-03-2007, 12:17 AM Crumbs this programme is awful.
I suppose if you like really bad tv than the programme must be good.
I watched the first 7 on Saturday it was horrendous and tonight the last four still just as bad.
Didn't recognise 2/3rds of the so called celebs, are they famous abroad?
One from heart beat actress who plays the barmaid, another from a soap can't remember which one, and of course Tara society girl ? ? ?
:assshake: This must belong to a celebrity.
BTW critique I agree with you they are mostly unknowns and will remain so.

Its for COMIC (that means comedy!!!!!!) Relief, the majority of the contestants are comedians, which is probably why you dont know them Maureen, as it appears you have lost your sense of humour!!!! Praps you should check out Grumpy Old Women (and before you take offense, Grumpy Old Women is one of my FAVES, cos I agree with most of what they say, but they moan with humour  )
No one on Celeb Fame Academy thinks they will get a record deal out of it - they are doing it for FUN, HUMOUR and CHARITY - lighten up you guys!!!!
Tigereye 16-03-2007, 11:02 AM Hat's off to them I say. Fekkin SCAREY singing at the best of times even if you are a professional, but these guys are SO giving it large outside their comfort zone it's unreal.
Go da boyz.
[yeh, tiger keeping it real on da streets man, yeh Dawg]

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am a bit gutted that the lovely Colin got booted last nite, but I though Barry from Eastenders and the barmaid off Heartbeat did a fannytastic job singing Kenny & Dolly - mucho respect to them!!

But this is my point. As it is for COMIC relief, there doesn't seem to be much laughing going on but a lot of tears, as if it's all serious.
The bit that did make me laugh out loud was when one of the judges told TPT that she COULD possibly get a record contract.
I guess it's some kind of "in" joke that me and Mo don't get.
Tigereye 16-03-2007, 11:19 AM In defference [sp] to Tara - who has me hooked in spite of everything I know about life - yer wan from Aidensfield can sing. Barry is a bit of a one trick pony but talented, but trish is the vocalist. She listens.
I'm enjoying it actually. Gives me hope as a singer.

I think perhaps I have a very sick sense of humour, I find their "misfortune" amusing :angel_not .......
I guess if you dont know who most of the contenstants are then it probably is a crock of :pooh: .......I will be perfectly honest, I only watched to perv over Colin Murray, and now he is out
~ils~ 16-03-2007, 10:05 PM I only watched to perv over Colin Murray, and now he is out
He did well, 4th is very respectable
BTW - Did you see his bum crack the other night?
I'm glad TPT won, ok she was not the best singer in the competiton but her performance of 'These Boots were made for Walking' was superb!
Well done TPT :applause:
Critique 16-03-2007, 10:35 PM I finally got the joke - it was a spoof Fame Academy and the idea was to find the worst singer. Well done TPT - you deserved to win :D

Hello Isis,
I don't think I've seen grumpy old women, I have seen 'grumpy old men' with the wonderful Walter Mathau. Great film.Very funny.
I genuinely haven't heard of the comedians on the programme, and couldn't comment on whether they were any good at being funny guys. But they were certainly C - - p at singing.
A bit like the four chefs they had one year, great personalities but couldn't sing for peanuts.
No doubt some people will have enjoyed the programme though getting into the fun aspect of it, especially since it was not meant to be a real talent show.
I just hope they raised lots of sponsorship money.
By way of a difference 'Comic relief' does 'The apprentice' was good, and I am really enjoying it.
Maureen
