View Full Version : Kristina was robbed
Dolores 13-06-2007, 09:36 PM I was gutted that Sir Alan went with young, posh, clueless Simon.
In my opinion, Kristina was streets ahead of Simon and deserved to win.
Simon was likeable but he's not a great achiever, I think Sir Alan will live to regret employing an empty vessel like Simon.
survivorfan 13-06-2007, 09:42 PM Don't agree Dol. As I watched the show I started thinking more and more that Simon would get it - and he did.
I don't see him as an empty vessel. In fact I think he has a lot of depth to him - if you care to look for it. On the other hand Kristina struck me as all front but little depth.
I think Sugar done well.
Fee For All 13-06-2007, 09:44 PM I knew she'd lost it when she said at the very last pip 'I don't need managing; you can leave me to get on with the job'.
However, I thought she came over very well on the Beeb2 show. I'm sure she'll have no probs doing better than 100k pa. And I imagine sralan will help. Did anyone see him on breakfast tv today? Very pointed about Katie.

well I did say at work that I wanted Kristina to win but I thought Sir Alan would choose Simon. He so obviously wanted to keep him in the week he sacked Naomi, cos Simon failed miserably on that task as a leader and as a salesman - in fact if he hadn't have tried to screw himself in an extra knob courtesy of the trampoline and made Sir Alan laugh so much I think he would have gone!
good luck to Simon, but I'm afraid ultimately I do see him as someone without focus or direction to see something through to the end.
And as discussed before for £100K I wouldn't expect to have to manage him!
Ah well, the end of the best programme one tv. Here's looking forward to next year's!

I didn't see it - what did he say, Fee?
He seemed quite cross with her on the You're Fired programme.
Somehow I think Katie's star is fading already - she's no Ruth Badger is she! Wonder what her next move will be.
Although how she sat through the vilification thrown at her on You're Fired I'll never know - I'd have cried, I would have!!!!!
Fee For All 13-06-2007, 11:48 PM He made a point about people who enter the show just for the media coverage and how he could understand that, but that the meedja only use people if they can get some use out of them, and to achieve that, then long-term, the public have to like you so what's the use if you've gone out of your way to be disliked.
He also explained how they are all given pages of info about the realities of winning - working in London etc etc - so everyone would have understood the position re relocating etc.
It was very clever, because none of it was in response to the direct questions he was asked about her; to those, he just referred to her as 'Dear Katie' and shook his head sorrowfully, getting the above 'general' observations in very swiftly afterwards.
Biiiig put-down. Huge. IMO
Seabreeze 14-06-2007, 06:52 AM You see my idea of The Apprentice is someone who can be taught and moulded to exactly what you want whereas I don`t think Kristina was that type as she was older and had the attitude of the been there done that.
Saying that I think both the buidings that they came up with were great and it was a tough decision on that point
I`m just sorry for both of them that Katie took the spot light off them all week and even managed to get her say in the final
Figaro 14-06-2007, 08:32 AM I was gobsmacked by SAS's choice. It seemed inconceivable last week that he would choose wet-wipe Simon over Kristina the Irish Terrier.
Although with hindsight, I don't know why I am surprised. SAS doesn't have a history of backing favourites, and Kristina was the favourite by miles in that race. He did it last year with the Ruth Badger and Michelle Dewberry final and although I didn't see it, I understand that his choice in the first series was a bit of a surprise too.
I'm sure he has his reasons. I suspect that he sees "The Apprentice" as being of a similar ilk to the person Seebreeze describes: young, bright, eager and mouldable. All of The Apprentices so far have been under 30, so maybe Kristina was a bit too mature and set in her ways for the job.
Figaro 14-06-2007, 08:36 AM On the subject of Katie on the "You're Hired" show, I agree that she handled the insults and villification very well.
The only time she seemed fazed by it was when SAS said that he hadn't previously seen the footage of her backstabbing, and that if he had he would never have considered employing her. He then twisted the knife by saying that no-one would employ someone who behaved like that.
Considering her antics were viewed by millions, he was practically condemning her to long-term unemployment, I thought.
I didnt see all of the prog I was channel hopping between it and BB (sad cow arent I lol)....... but I did watch Youre Hired afterwards......
I thought I saw a slight squirm off Katie when they showed Kristina all the nasty things Katie had said about her - and you could see by Kristina's face she was really peed off..... I would have been raging if I had been her!!!

I would hope she could handle the insults - she dishes them out quick enough!!!!!
IMHO Katie was in there to "raise her profile" and to win the competition, whether she actually wanted the job is a different matter......
One thing I know, I couldnt work with her and you wouldnt trust her near your man would you.....dirty auld HO!!!!!!!!!
Punkyfish 14-06-2007, 11:50 AM Christina was head and shoulders above the rather wet Simon but as was said SA wants to "mould" someone and Christina is already formed. It does beg the question though if someone is focused and very very good, wins most of the tasks and yet has no chance of becoming the Apprentice because Sir Alan so obviously puts his personal feelings first, what is the point of the show? :shocking:

Yeah, I agree. There's a pattern forming (in terms of who he picks as the winner).
I think that Simon's clearly creative, but he seems a terrible risk to me. He's a track record of failing under pressure (made redundant from City job, internet business struggling) and he comes up with as many bad ideas as he does good ones.

I agree with that too. The format lends itself to the more experienced people doing well at the weekly tasks, yet is supposed to be finding an "apprentice" who will learn from SAS. The one seems at odds with the other.
