View Full Version : Paul - Throwing toys out of his pram!
I think Paul acted like a big baby because fran did the chest challenge and he didn't. Fran offered it to him but he kept saying no and then got in to a huff because Fran did it. Then he told Fran he mustn't talk about it back at camp! He only reason he didn't want to talk about it is because he knew he was acting like a kid.... no wonder Fran was ****ed off.
Andrea 05-12-2004, 10:26 PM Totally agree with you there ils.
i said in another thread that he knew whoever did the task would look good in the editing.
But he just sat on the sidelines like a 6 year old girl."I want to do that"
Oh please Paul, you are just like all the other diva's wanting to be the centre of attention all the time.
He definately should have gone tonight.
Dolores 05-12-2004, 10:27 PM I was waiting for a big old row there ... and it didn't happen!
Paul was excruciatingly embarrassing for his childishness and to quote Vic "he wouldn't let it lie" would he. on and on and on he moaned.
Poor old Fran had all the joy of completing such a fun task destroyed by sulky Paul. Very very bad form Mr B.
I really felt for Fran and I think this may have gained him a lot of votes tonight, cos aside from being hot, Fran can't really have a very big fan base can he, I was surprised Janet went tonight and not Joe or Fran.
Vazler 05-12-2004, 10:30 PM I agree entirely. If he thought he had every right to act the way he did, he wouldnt have been so eager for them to keep it quiet when they got back.
Then he had the gall to tell Janet when she said she had already heard about it that he would tell her the truth, because his version is the truth. Basically implying that Fran was a liar or made it up when it was Paul who obviously was ashamed of himself since it was him trying to hide his behaviour.
It really is ashame so many are being taken in by him, those trying to blame the editing seem to forget that no one in the camp is forced to say anything, if you dont want to talk then dont, they cant force you to. If you make a vow of silence or claim you are not going to talk about something, then just say no comment or can we change the subject, stop acting like they are forced into it. Paul pulled out his wild card and unfortunately people fell for it, hopefully the majority will have more sense in the final.
-xena- 05-12-2004, 10:31 PM well,I found fran and paul equally annoying tonight...while paul's whining was pathetic, fran's moaning was irritating too...
You can tell everyone is thinking about getting the big prize now...

He definately should have gone tonight. God he showed himself up tonight didnt he? Firstly with the above row with Fran, then the attempt to cover the row up up from the others with the "lets just drop it shall we", then the girly wide eyes at possibly THE least verminous looking rat ever, his girly reaction to the Hell Hill trial (all trembling hands and staring worried eyes) to his petulant outburst at the end of it, blaming his lack of success on "someone pointing a pressure hose at me" until it was pointed out that Fran had the same hose on him with no bother, to his other excuse "Janet stole my star" which he decided not to mention - except for about three times in camp when she wasnt there, ensuring that everyone got the message.
His hissy fit when Fran did the trial reminded me of Michelle Bass in Big Brother hissing to herself, "Aiiiiii wanted to be the briiiiide"
The tombstone conversation was so bumclenchingly awful, it made my teeth itch.

Yep,that was bad and pretty morbid too...
Lyndsay 06-12-2004, 08:25 AM The editors had it in for Paul tonight. It should have been re-named the Paul Burrell show. The whole programme seemed to be slanted to show Paul in the worst possible light. We never actually saw what happened about the chest challenge, we saw the beginning and the end, but I thought the whole show was rather odd. Having said that Paul did appear to be behaving like an idiot, but this is the first time I have noticed the show being blatantly slanted against one particular contestant. Maybe that's why Janet went tonight, people saw this and voted for Paul.
Critique 06-12-2004, 12:24 PM I just think the producers, the media and everyone is not really interested in who has proved themselves in the jungle but who is going to give the best interviews when the celebrations start and of course it has to be Joe because of his reputation as a commedian, although I saw little of that in the Jungle.
I think Paul deserves to win simply because of the way he has conducted himself in the jungle, but I am not sure even I could stand him on all the chat shows, looking smug and trying to look humble and unworthy - lol. OK Vaz, I am waivering a bit. It boils down to the fact that I really don't mind out of those two who wins - just not Fran, pleeeeease. I think he is a nasty, snidey, smelly, vain, arrogant, prat.
Eternity 06-12-2004, 12:36 PM Ant and Dec were also knocking him every chance they got too, I was disgusted with the pair of them, but maybe they were told to do that! I think that even if Paul did win, they would fix it to Joe, even though Paul has stirred a lot of emotion in the GBP, be it love him, laugh at him, or hate him.
Paul is, as I have said before, too niave (sp) for his own good.
I think Paul is who he is and what he is and has come across like that. He is naive and perhaps out of his depth.
I think he genuinely thought he would go out early and now he has a chance to win is trying to hard.
Joe has been playing a game since day one and he wants to win. I like Joe and won’t be upset when he wins but It will mean so much more to Paul and perhaps he deserves it more for being real and entertaining

Do they actually receive a prize of any sort?
Ceridwen 06-12-2004, 04:33 PM I was shocked that Paul stayed in last night.
He really didn't do himself any favours yesterday at all...
Bella 06-12-2004, 04:41 PM well,I found fran and paul equally annoying tonight...while paul's whining was pathetic, fran's moaning was irritating too...

Me too Xena. Paul was a bit out of order, but Fran didn't do himself any favours whilst stomping off in the huff smoking a fag. To be honest it was the first bit of emotion we have really seen from Fran since they got in there.
Paul didn't help himself whilst whinging to the camera and to Fran & Joe that Janet "stole" his star but not actually to Janet herself. The thing is Janet probably did steal his star, I can just see her doing that sort of thing, but to come back and whinge about was a bit pathetic. I truly thought that Paul was going to burst into tears. Ok, so he done without a meal, but he is going to have a huge slap-up dinner at the hotel in a couple of days, so was it really worth as ILS says throwing all his toys out of the pram.
I was really surprised that Paul stayed too, I honestly thought he would have gone last night.
We can't be sure that Janet wouldn't have admitted the star was originally Paul's - perhaps she did but we didn't see it. It looked to me as if Paul handed her the star with both of them knowing full well that he'd struggle to clamber up the hill to his position again. Paul's such a contradiction. Physically he looks more than capable of doing well in trials where strength and fitness come into play, and yet I think Joe was faster up the hill than Paul.
Pandora 06-12-2004, 05:14 PM Im not sure, did I hear Janet say that Paul had handed her his star? Or am I imagining that.
Either way, Paul's protruding bottom lip because he hadnt done as well as he'd wanted to, and then complaining about the pressure hose that "was deliberately being aimed at me" was very petulant. Ant was VERY quick to point out that Fran was actually getting the brunt of the same pressure hose ....
Paul seems to have turned into "Competitive Father" from the Fast Show since he has had the smell of victory in his nostrils
Minklemar 06-12-2004, 05:59 PM I've had enough of Paul now - he is trying so hard to be sincere and come across well, but he's a sulky so-and-so isn't he? He sulked because he wanted to haev a star to hold up in the trial and Janet had his (Pandora - I'm pretty sure she did mention Paul giving her his star right after the trial finished). Anyway - I thought the meals they got were because Janet, Joe and Paul were all in position with their stars before they got washed down the hill. I didn't think Frans counted because Paul wasn't in position - so what on earth was he moaning about.
He also came across as very petulant after the BTT - but his reaction didn't really match what happened so I'm not sure about what went on there. I think it might've been heavily edited to make Paul look bad.
*Rachel* 06-12-2004, 06:05 PM I agree 100%!! Paul is acting like a spoiled brat because he couldnt get his own way! :mad2:  :glare:
:cool2: COME ON JOE! xxxxxx
iamacat 06-12-2004, 06:29 PM to an extent i do feel that he is more angry with himself than with others but he just decides to take it out on them to make himself feel better. i do feel for him as he does appear to be genuinely unhappy when he can't prove himself to us public but i'm starting to think a little less of him as he is as you say 'throwing his toys out of the pram' a bit. but i think it's just due to how he feels about losing/screwing up and the fact that the end is in sight and it is getting more competitive by the minute.
cat xx
-xena- 06-12-2004, 07:19 PM The thing is that he shouldn't try so hard to convince everyone he is a great guy....just be a great guy and shut up...
actions are stronger than words...
Normal1 06-12-2004, 07:55 PM For goodness sake, GBP, do the right thing and kick the fawning, creepy, oily boot-polishing footman out.
He's got too far as it is.
He should have merely been allowed to serve the contestants with a round of drinks and then dismissed below stairs.
But I am sure that at the after-show party Ant & Dec will put him to good use handing out canapés, crisps, and valeting their guest's cars.
Eternity 06-12-2004, 08:08 PM Really Normal?? Well sorry Pet, but I am voting like a dervish for him - I think he is the ONLY one deserving to win!
Normal1 06-12-2004, 08:11 PM The twittering pantomime dame has just said - in reference to keeping the "kitchen" clean and the knives and forks in the right places: " I know I'm terribly anal..."
Too much information, dear, wayyyyyy too much.
