I'm supposed to be working in Chicago for a week next month. I'm surprised the trip hasn't been cancelled (the client is a well known Swiss Bank who have recently announced astounding losses), but so far it appears to be going ahead.

Can anyone recommend any places of interest? My only free time will be evenings and maybe one or two afternoons, and I'll be staying in a fairly central location. I'll be there on my own, so I want some things to do as I don't think I can spend every night for a week staring a my hotel walls or watching American T.V.

Any suggestions for things to do in a limited time in the Windy City?

I spent five hours in Chicago during my road trip a couple of years ago...I didn't have long so did the Sears Tower, rode on an elevated train (childish but fun) and ate pizza...a local suggested Millenium park (but we didn't have time) and just wandering a round the city and it's water ways is pretty cool!
