View Full Version : My Day!
Tell us all about your day here!
My day hasn't been very exciting! This morning I went to work and then this afternoon I came home to my house in a complete and utter tip as I am finally having central heating installed. There are pipes, flues & radiators everywhere. All the floor boards upstairs where up and the old water heater in the garden
Oh well by this time next week it should all be done! :D
secrets 02-11-2004, 09:29 PM I hope you are not paying by the hour!

Andrea 02-11-2004, 09:42 PM Well my day today wasn't really very exciting.
Kids to school, home (calling in at the bakery for a cake to have mid-morning) I've got to treat myself somehow, as I did clean up the living room.
Back to pick one son up, dinner, back to pick other son up, hubby home tea, kids to bed, ironing, yadda, yadda, yadda:rolleyes:
Was in uni til 5pm today ( ) then met my girlfriend, we got some dinner then went to a bar to watch the footie and had a few games of pool.
That's it!
Islandman 03-11-2004, 02:35 AM got up early for morning swim practice...it was a distance workout...went to breakfast, class, finished homework, napped, walked to the store to buy a new phone because mine just stopped working, went to afternoon swim practice...arms went numb by end due to doing a tough second distance workout...ate dinner, and am now anxiously watching as voting results trickle in for presidential elections.
I woke up at 7 :( checked the voting
Went back to sleep
Woke up about half 8 :( checked the voting
Had breakfast (Alpen, very healthy!)
Had a shower
Checked voting
Came here to see you all
Gonna head back to my room, tidy it... play gamecube (with bongoes!)
Have tea (Chili, I think)
Watch neighbours
Have my room used as a common room
Go to bed...
Well I got the boys off to school.
Walked the dogs for miles - found a Fly Agaric [a huge bright red fungi with white spots on - a typical Brownie Guide toadstool - I got so excited!!]:)
Went to college to do my upholstry course.
Took Fanny out for a lunchtime walk through a gorgeous woodland - whilst on my lunchbreak at college.
Went to the printers to pick up the book I edited and jointly wrote.
Made tea and will begin binding the first 100 books tonight.
Minklemar 03-11-2004, 05:21 PM I ate three sausage rolls and a prawn baguette and now feel very sick - and in an hour I'm due to be having dinner at my Dad's which he has cooked specially for me!
I won't be able to move if I eat any more!
4am - woke with throbbing knee, took painkillers and went back to bed with propped knee - read till 6am.
6am - got up, knee feeling better, did pack lunches, emptied then filled washing machine - ditto dishwasher. Had a quick browse here.
8.25am - leave for work with children in car....freddie still crying for when first woke up at 7am.
9am - arrive at work and feel like poop
3.45pm - leave work to pick up children.
4.15pm - open latest package from ebay...2 pairs of lycra navy blue tights (****ed)
4.30pm - chap comes to fix back door
4.35pm - brother arrives with wine/beer and steak.
5.45pm - start drinking beer
6.30pm - disagreement with floopy over Nadine
7pm----
it was actually a bit more interesting that that but didn't want to go into too much detail...
floopy 03-11-2004, 06:26 PM 6.30 Up and at em, fed changed & cuddled baby.
7.15 out the door, chatting to bezzie mate enroute
7.45 go to work before the Head arrived (har har)
11.00 had riotously loud rough sex with Head of Humanities
1.00 chatted to bezzie mate whilst eating lunch
4.00 came home, did baby stuff, chatted to husband
6.30 Cat wages unprovoked war on me
one of the above may be an untruth
7.30..sit down and chat with brother re clumsiness that runs in the family. He wasn't aware that dad is the clumsiest baboon around and has incurred many an injury, just like mine yesterday. My eldest son has inherited the gene too.
7.55. Put on boys tea.
8.05pm Offer Floopy the olive branch of lurrrrrrrrrrvvvvvvvve. If she wants to be Nadine, she can be Nadine. I have to remember that she can be Huw Jawrse, and I don't want to loose the connection we made.
8.07pm - turn over steak..another glass of wine.
floopy 03-11-2004, 07:15 PM 8.13 Grab olive branch from Cat's outstretched hand
8.14 Dance around forum shouting NAH NAH NAH NAH I'm Nadine
:D
Huw sends you a blitheringly large smacker
tigger 03-11-2004, 07:24 PM Today we went to Stonehenge. I have driven by it so many times but have never stopped. This time we did and we went on the tour with the audio system. It was so fascinating hearing the history and myths and legends that go along with Stonehenge. We also found out that there are many burial mounds surrounding the immediate area. Superb day.
Tomorrow it's Dover Castle.

Lordy! is this your life, or are you on holiday?
Can you touch the stones
Wow Tiggs - you must be on holiday. I have never ever been to Stonehenge, I htought it was now all fenced off - obv. not!! Must put it in my 'things to do book' [which is slowly turning into a series of books].
And Dover Castle is one of these places that fools you innit???:p
It isn't in Dover - is it?? I have no idea where it is - but there is another Castle that is called something and it is nowhere near what it is called - my geog is pants hence me not remembering the name of the castle or the place.
floopy 03-11-2004, 08:18 PM Do you mean Leeds castle, in Kent? :D
Well my day wasn't half as interesting as Tigger's
This morning I went to work, this afternoon I didn't do anything much, as the house is upside down due to the heating being installed. This evening I went food shopping and now I am on here.
What an exciting life I lead :D
Do you mean Leeds castle, in Kent? :D
That is the very confusing one I was thinking of - ta Floops!!:p

7:30 - had dinner
watched TV for the rest of the evening
10:30 - had great sex :p
Ooh... ended up going out last night instead of going to bed early... and I found THE level of intoxication in which I was able to dance/sing without feeling like an idiot... yet not be out of control... had such a good time...
Got up about half 8, had breakfast, came here... going home as soon as my mate gets up and reclaims his gamecube...
Adzam 04-11-2004, 04:37 PM I feel so boring lol,

Learnt at school lol
Found out I am the Tinman in our school's show this year (The Wiz)
Came Home from school and will be spending the rest of my evening finishing off Geography Coursework due in for tomorrow, I REALLY hate Coursework!
tigger 04-11-2004, 05:30 PM Wow Tiggs - you must be on holiday. I have never ever been to Stonehenge, I htought it was now all fenced off - obv. not!! Must put it in my 'things to do book' [which is slowly turning into a series of books].

Dover Castle is indeed in Dover. It is at the top of the cliffs. We went today and tomorrow we are going to Gatwick Airport to take my sister-in-law and her husband to go catch their flight home to the USA. We have really enjoyed their staying with us and am sorry to see them go home.
My day has been nice, I acheived my self list much to my amazement. I have invoiced, answered wage queries, banked...BANK ;) . I have sorted out a new contract with our sanitary supplier.
I spent a moment at the glueing table with the children, to regather my thoughts.
I shared my photo's with the parents who accompanied me on the farm trip two weeks ago. I was pleasantly suprised to see that I look rather good in my oversized army jacket feeding a goat!
I have just got the children their tea ready, and am now sat having a beer.
floopy 04-11-2004, 06:26 PM Today I started my "paperless office" regime, whereby all information/data is transferred electronically throughout the school.
Then I sat back and watched 76 headless-chickening teachers running around the building clutching instructions on how to access their e-mail
:D
Floopy my dear, what do you do? :drinking:
floopy 04-11-2004, 06:35 PM I'm in charge of performance data, target setting, exam analysis, assessment for learning,..... all that mallarkey
..so what do you do then?
:mad1:
floopy 04-11-2004, 06:39 PM I just told you!
I do very clever things with databases and spreadsheets.
..who for tho? The teachers, the pupils, the examination board. And what data do you process, and where has it come from...the pupils, the examination boards....etc etc.
I like spread sheets....I love their simplicity in making the most obscure calculation look beautifull, especially if you use pastel shading to depict the different criteria.
PS. Please remember I am premenstrual, or menstrual now, this is your first time....take note and get used to it.
floopy 04-11-2004, 06:51 PM all data, any data, comes to or from me.
I predict KS3 based on KS2 , GCSE based on KS3, CATS and SATS, set targets, for the school/by dept/by teacher/for each student.
I drag it in form the boards, ananlyse it, then publish it to the LEA. Governors and the School.
I also report on anythign that needs to be reported on :D
Happy?
Possibly.
We are a nursery school and the teachers have to fill in foundation stage booklets, though they are not recognised because we don't have any statutory 5's?????
I love working in a school with children but I find the whole governmental process very scary in their total lack of understanding.
I work on the money side....our budget this year has over £8000 that we HAVE to spend on computer programming, (for 3-5 year olds....that would keep us going for 10 years), yet we desperately need another Nursery Nurse...OH NO, You can't afford that.
Can if she's a ****ing robot, dick heads.
...oooh...... :ranting:
floopy 04-11-2004, 07:13 PM sorry :(
marjorie
Why are you sorry?
Gail
floopy 04-11-2004, 07:22 PM I dont know, I just feel responsible :(
Euphenegia
Well don't.
I know exactly who is responsible for my school.
But much more importantly..what are we going to do about the smilie budget?
I just can't cope any more.
:) what is this....an ill person bereft of colour attempting its first smile after recovering from death.
:D what is this...I don't like it..its like a self copulating chinese man
;) what the **** is this supposed to represent...
jesus :ranting:

I'll leave it in your very capable hands - whilst I'm away :D
ok.leave it to me.. :) blaaahh
floopy 04-11-2004, 08:43 PM Cat, there is another way, find a website with a bunch of smliles on it, and paste the link thing in the image whatjamacallit.
There's a whole new smiley world out there http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0304/natur/nature-smiley-009 http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0304/natur/nature-smiley-002 http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0304/natur/nature-smiley-014
http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0304/linie/smiley-linie-002.gif
But we want the smilies back on the site so we don't have to go to another site to get them. Start the campaign Cat ;)

It will take me 12 months to pay off all my debts & the extra amount each month will totally transform my life.............really.

My God! No way could I wait till 9.30!! The first thing I do is run downstairs to have a bowel movement! ... bet you're all glad I shared that with you.
Coastie 07-11-2004, 02:29 PM I have to have my first cup of tea to get things in motion Dol....even then with a good book to hand it can be slow motion! :D
Actually it hasn't worked today....I think I have a spot of habitual constipation! :(
Is this what they mean when they say taking the conversation down to sewer level?
floopy 07-11-2004, 07:51 PM Stayed at Mum's last night so me and him could go out on the razz (originally to see a duo called Simon and Garth's Uncle   who didnt materialise, sadly, so we took over the karaoke instead).
Baby woke up at 5.45  , waking me from a dead-to-the-world sleep-of-the-****ed. Hung around there all morning then made emergency dash to visit sick brother in law who'd been taken into hosp. (making good progress)
Crazy mad woman in the next bed started screaming at me about discussing her case in public and taking us to court (didnt have the first feckin idea who the mad old biddy was, or anything about her "case", but thankfully she passed out after the nurse gave her 2 "paracetamol"). All very odd and a bit stressful.
Got home about 6 with a wide awake baby who's only just fallen asleep.
Came on here for a bit of a laugh only to find a heap of sombre posts criticising having-a-laugh-type people, so I'm going to bed now, a bit sad and fed up.
Coastie 08-11-2004, 08:22 PM Today I woke up at 6am...went for a wee then went back to bed and woke up again at 10:30!
I had a shower then went shopping as I wasn't in the mood for breakfast....bought my groceries, DVD for me and my mums birthday present.
12:30 - had three small salad filled wraps for lunch and watched 'Himalaya' from last night. Followed that with disc one of Murder One - Series 2...fanbloomingtastic.
17:00 - Put dinner on.
18:00 - Had chilli and pasta for tea and read my book for an hour.
19:00 - got ready for work.
19:30 - arrived at work!
