Well, at least we know that Tara's normal off screen. Meaning it's all an act. Meaning she's not on the snow any more. Hooray!

And we also know that JSP is an ever bigger snob and bitch in real life than she was in the camp! What a biggoted, self righteous cow she is!

And we also know that JSP is an ever bigger snob and bitch in real life than she was in the camp! What a biggoted, self righteous cow she is!Well, well, well .... WHAT an interesting programme ! A lot of the slebs were shown in their true light werent they?

Vic Reeves - shown to be an irritating, big headed pr*t when drunk.
Nancy - shown to be rather long suffering and very pleasant
Sophie - shown to be deeply in love and loved in equal amounts by her fella, AND seems to have learned a few lessons from the time spent in the jungle.
Natalie - was shown to be as neurotic as when she was in the jungle. Complaining about the "smell" of the fruit  and hunching over her food, looking terrified of it and sniffing it cautiously ....... that girl needs help, NOW!
Paul - wasnt shown much, but obviously has a very loving family.
Joe - curiously I feel, didnt come out of this too well. He didnt seem to show any real affection toward his wife, and seemed a little "distant".
Sheila - shown to be a diva in the real world too, full of beans, loud, confident, totally in control and a real protection Mom ... then all the brash front disappeared when she went into a kind of "shock" after visiting the hairdresser ....
Fran - well, he was Fran really wasnt he? ditto with Huggy :sleepy:
Janet - shown to be loud, abrasive and came out with the classic, "who's 'e then?" as Sophies fella thanked her for "looking after Sophie" and when told about her ex husband selling his story, she said, "Well Im glad he's made some money, lets face it, nobody will employ him".... she is a hard cow and doesnt care who knows it!

Yes - totally agree with all you say.

What surprised me was that most of the celebs, who you would imagine lived quite an opulent lifestyle, were so impressed with the hotel. I rather imagined they lived like that all the time. I don't think it was just the contrast between the jungle and the hotel but maybe it was.

I loved the way Paul and Joe's wives were so ordinary and got on so well together - so very down to earth and nice they seemed.

Joe seems to need a script for life or he hasn't got a clue.

It was JSP's manager in the car with her saying how he felt so sorry for her when he saw the others coming out the jungle before her - asking how she coped being with people 'like that'!!!

I was lost for words - if it's people like that around her, no wonder she is the way she is! :mad2:

Was Janet keeping a lid on it in the jungle? She was rude in camp, but her arrogance upon leaving was mind boggling. I can't remember exactly what she said, but she suggested she had more intelligence than all the three men left put together. Whether it was true or self-dillusion, her swaggering superiority has put me right off her.

The guy who said he'd had dinner with the evictees and didn't know how she had managed to last as long as she did - was that her agent? Whoever he is they're cast from the same egotistical mould.

Janet had nothing good to say about Paul, although he had been perfectly pleasant about her. In fact apart from Joe, she looked down her nose at the contestants and didn't have a kind word to say about any of them.

Edited to say I've just read up and Eternity informs me it was her manager. I couldn't agree with you more BTW Eternity.

yes,as you said Pandora,it was really interesting to watch...I agree with pretty much all your comments...
-I found Janet entertaining to watch in the jungle but I definitely saw for myself tonight that she really is a mean woman and definitely not as intelligent as she thinks she is...
-Vic reeves confirmed what I suspected,He really is full of himself...don't know how Nancy Sorell manages to stay with him...awful person...
-Natalie needs mental treatment. And I'm not even joking here...
-Sheila...I still find her really irritating and full of flaws but at least she seems to be a good mum...so I can respect that...
-Sophie is obviously having a great time...I still find her very likeable...definetely not the self-centered person that many people are talking about..
-huggy and fran...Well,we didn't see much of them did we...
-Paul was...Paul
-And Joe was a bit weird,....wonder what's in his mind...

The thing is the poor woman obviously has no friends or family, as none of them turned up (wonder why?!) Imagine only having your manager there, how sad.
Never mind, they can sit and smarm together about how intellectually superior they are to everyone else.
Ever noticed how people who constantly brag about something, quite often are a bit deluded? Think this might apply to JSP.

JSP's manager reminded me of Smithers from The Simpsons!

Yes, how completely arrogant she is. 'Superior'? My ****. There're more ways to be superior than in intellect and her people skills are sorely lacking.

Pandora, you are so right about Joe and his wife. I couldn't put my finger on it last night but yes he did seem quite detached from her. And I see that he used his stock phrases again. 'Jacob's' and 'living on the edge'. Got a new one I noticed ' She's begging for it'.

I thought Paul's family were lovely and reinforces my view that he is a decent bloke.

Sophie's boyfriend was absolutely lovely too. Really down to earth and just, well, nice!

I thought Sheila's daughter was over reacting somewhat, but then I haven't read the tabloids so I don't know how nasty they've been. But, really, on here it's just her bossiness that has p!ssed everyone off and she already knew she was bossy.

Brian's 'exclusive' debacle brought home what this was all about though, and it wasn't charity it was fees.

I was really interested in this last night, and i agree with everything said above.

I thought Sophie was lovely, and her boyfriend Mark is just wonderfully attentive which is what she needs. I think she came out the best in the whole show .... and she looked gorgeous when she was 'scrubbed up'.

I too couldnt believe Janet and her manager and how bitchy they were - but then she has never been afraid to call a spade a spade.

Brian Harvey and his lost £30k made me laugh, and as Maxine said, they are only really in it for the money (although i suppose thats normal for celebs who are down on their luck). The funniest bit though was that it was his girlfriends fault that he lost the money

I thought it was rushed at the end though. You saw all the other 'celebs' for quite a few minutes each, but the final 3 were crammed into a 10 minute slot which was a shame.

I thought Ant and Dec were like robots last night, I guess all they had to do was read the screen

Sophie's boyfriend made me want to vomit, with his "whacky" jeans, facial hair and "i just love sophie, i am so trendy" attitude - what a boring fart, Sophie came across as a sloany bore :sleepy:

Fran's hairdresser pal was a right idiot. Shiela was a bit too much. Vic's wife is fine, a bit dim but fine - Vic came across as a pratt. natalie is a horrid media creation and was just as vile as in the jungle - she lies to herself as well as constantly to the camera. Paul was a decent man on and off (the queen aint mad, she would not have put up with him for 10 years if he was a numpty). Joe was ace, yes a bit detatched, but still normal and his wife and sis were great too.

I too enjoyed the Celeb thing and thought it was hilarious when Nancy rang her agent only to be put "on hold" - not such the star you thought you were going to be luvvy, perhaps you should have left your overweight boorish husband behind and the public could have seen your personality shine through instead of constantly hanging on to his apron strings. What an unpleasant man Vic Reeves is, did anyone see him that time on Hells Kitchen demanding a fried egg, Gordon Ramsay told him where to go but the man is a total prat. As for Janet, who did her and her agent think they were talking about the other contestants like that? Janet thinks she is such a cut above and yet speaks with that dreadful common voice. Think she is so far up herself she cant see the real world with real people any more! I thought it was sweet that Joe and Paul's wives had palled up but I also was disappointed in Joe, still going on about his Jacobs, its becoming a bit boring now in my opinion!

:

Did you think so? The general consensus at my work is that she has obviously married Vic in order to boost her career. She was all kissy, kissy in front of the photographers then it was straight onto the mobile to her agent to see what work she got out of it. If she is long suffering, its because she would be a nobody without him.

I also noticed that Janet had no one to meet her bar her agent. I thought she had a boyfriend - Peter - gawdhelphim - what about all these high profile friends she brags about. She may be entertaining to a degree but she is quite an unpleasant woman.

I've just watched the repeat of this in ITV2.

Biggest suprise was Sophie and especially her boyfriend....they compliment each other very well and she came across a lot better than on her own.

All the rest seemed to me as I thought.

Loved the footage of Joe and Pauls wife's.Funny how the two with the most 'normal' grounded family did the best.

Oh and Aidee was as big a prat as he was on The Salon.

Agree with what most of you have said, while I found Planet entertaining in the jungle when she was giving Oily Jeeves a hard time, but outside a bit of magnanimity wouldn't have gone amiss.

And that shot of her when she was on the hotel bed...thanks, camera-person for giving us a view straight up between her old wrinkly road-runner legs, she looked like she was in some cheapo granny-sex porn flick! (er, not that I've ever watched them of course, ahem...)

Vic Reeves? pretty much confirmed what I suspected/have heard anecdotally: the man is a jumped up boor who has an over-inflated opinion of his celebrity status...hey Vic...you should be waking up every morning being thankful for the chances you've been given..in any other life you'd be working in Quik-Fit so make the most of what you've got instead of being so up your own botty.

His g/f..well..just seemed nice-but-dim really. But I am sure she was a brilliant pole-dancer.

That bloke who didn't like flies and farted in camp, a chavvy character who seemed to love shouting down his mobile at his "people".

Nat? Will no doubt be booking in for a massive therapy session.

Sheila? Liked her...she was quite funny out of camp...loved her tenderness with her daughters...

Sophie and boyfriend? Got fed up of shots of them swapping spit all the time. Soooo much in love...yeah yeah yeah....he wore far too much bling and should get rid of that silly dead rat on his chin. Shots of her and Tara PT together...hmmm...two of a kind.

Joe and Mrs Joe? I reckon he's far more shrewd than he makes out. He was on the phone to his agent quicker than a whippet after a rat. In the game of life, he's got his hand on the slot machine lever, and for the next six months it's a jackpot with every pull. Mrs Joe...hmm...strange hair...

Jeeves? More tears, a supportive family (which was nice - his kids seem very caring) and I'm sure he'll do very well out of the whole experience. I suggest he gets some therapy, with him on the couch and J-SP in the chair!

Good post Normal1, and great to see there is a soul in there at last - knew there was really! :wink2:

I think we actually learnt more about them in the Coming Out programme than we did when they were in camp - it was a real eye-opener. Makes me wonder if they fully knew that the cameras were with them for further veiwing - or if that last bit was just for them to see.

Anyway, no doubt it will all be milked further, half of them are on the same flight home, and the rest? Well I don't know what they are doing. Probably still screaming down a mobile demanding their millions!

Been fun bantering with you on this one! (I think!) :)

Good post Norm and pretty much sums up my feelings on the programme. Re Sophie and boyfriend - personally I thought it was a bit much, his hands were all over the place but I thought Sophie kept her distance. I got the feeling that it wasn't 100% genuine, but really lushed up a bit for the cameras.

Nice post, Normal1; although I also liked your posts about rabid hounds and the like; very creative. I liked Sheila too, even when she was in camp. She seemed very sensible and competent, if a little bossy. I'd have liked her to have talked more about her experiences in showbiz, but then none of them did really, did they. I suppose they all had to watch what they said. Anyway, she came across great in that last programme, so I hope it's not done her any damage.

Watch the coming out bits on Sophie again. Only ONE time does she not begin a sentence with I this or me that (and that only to bitch about someone else). She does not ask her boyfriend how he is, she immediately launches into how she feels. She does not ask her parents how they are, she again launches straight into how she feels. A rare degree of self absorbtion. Her boyfriend is way too good for her. One day he will meet someone who takes an interest more in his feelings and he will notice a difference in how it makes HIM feel, and it will then be bye bye Sophie, especially once she's too old to look good in photo shoots any more.

Never mind Sophie, I was MUCH more interested in Joe Pasquale and his wife! He seemed very very distant with her, not particularly affectionate and more to the point, why was he in a separate limo to her when he as on the way to his King of the Jungle Party in the rain? He rang her and was surprised she was already there. Were they staying in separate hotels?

Hmmmm ...

 Regarding Natalie Appleton's accent, she is a bit Canadian, a bit New York, a bit London and a bit from another planet. This gives her the "Mid Atlantic Accent".

Some other info, all from http://www.askmen.com/women/singer_200/238_natalie_appleton.html

Natalie Jane Appleton was born on May 14, 1973, in Mississauga, near Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She grew up with her elder sisters, Lori and Lee, and her younger sister, Nicole, in Toronto and New York before moving to Camden in London, England.

Natalie Appleton's feisty energy and good looks get our immediate attention, while her perseverance in the face of personal and professional adversity earns her our respect
Natalie Appleton's blend of good looks and attitude give her palpable sex appeal. Though one of her nicknames is "Fat Cat" (she was a chubby baby), Natalie's later interest in aerobics has left her with an enviable and desirable physique that only increases her attractiveness.
She stands 5'5" tall, with blonde hair and enticing green eyes, and looking at Natalie Appleton is certainly no chore. She has a charmingly feisty and mischievous smile, and sumptuous lips. However, when she isn't smiling, she has a somewhat stark look that can be intimidating.

Considering she's a horror buff (and an avid fan of Stephen King), we shouldn't be surprised that Natalie Appleton isn't scared by what day-to-day life throws at her. She's shown perseverance in dealing with her failed first marriage and raising a daughter on her own. While she may have a sassy persona, Natalie's defiance comes from some real-life trials.

"We've both always written, we just weren't allowed to record our stuff in All Saints because that wasn't our job."
-Natalie Appleton, on writing songs with her sister, Nicole.
