View Full Version : Fit November!

To be honest, Girls Aloud was never really a viable option.

So, I've decided, ladies and gents, that this month's theme should be Fitness. I need to get fit. So you all should suffer too.

I have just been on a jog, and nearly died in the process. However, I plan to go jogging every day from now on, within reason. I also have a free week's pass at the local leisure centre, so I might as well use it.

Tell us what you're doing, or what you're not doing, here. And might somebody pin this?

cheerio!

Fine by me Scoobs, I'm still working with my trainer and loving the gym so I'm happy. I could start doing a bit more swimming though as that's the only part of the gym I avoid, so my fitness aim will be to swim more during November :)

BTW, now I have pinned it it actually say 'Sticky Fit November' I'm not sure if I find that less or more appealing!

I do an awful lot of walking, but it doesnt decrease my HUGE thighs, so i think exercise is a bit of a waste of time ;)

Having said that .... ill still continue my walking as its the only exercise i enjoy.

No I'm sorry Scooby but this is just not on. You introduced the idea of Girls Aloud November, you cannot just change your mind willy nilly because it suits you. I voted with committment and intend to carry my pledge thru.

You can jog as many miles as you like but I am will be sticking with the winning vote.

I have already asked my colleagues and friends to start calling Nadine.

I must admit I am very disappointed in you...you won't be able to do this in Belsize you know.

I don't like Girls Aloud and as much as I would love to enter into this fitness thing I am entering an apathetic phase in my life and simply canm't be bothered....I do however walk everywhere and clock up a stomping 14 miles a week or so simply because I enjoy it but the gym.....been there done that and well I simply cannot afford it now! :(

November's a difficult month to choose for starting a fitness regime, Scooby. At least, I think that diet/fitness plans are a lot to harder to stick to during the winter (autumn... winter, all the same to me.) You're fighting that natural curl-up-and-hibernate-and-stuff-face-with-chocolate urge. And it's bloody dark and miserable and there are colds floating around.

Sorry, that's not very motivating is it. I don't have a strict regime, I just do stuff I enjoy, cause that's the only way I'll have any hope of keeping at it. Dancing and swimming work for me. Dancing's great exercise- just put your favourite dance cd on and lollop around energetically for half an hour. Jogging can be good too, though, but taking some music with you is vital to stave off the bloody boredom.

Hello =)

Energetic, cheerful people during the darkest months of the year usually get on my tits too. It's like talkative people first thing in the morning, or people sticking to a diet over Christmas... (grumble)

I'm afflicted with premature senility so I'm not quite sure what Scooby was like a couple of years back, but I do remember him as a sensible bloke.

You remembered rightly, 'wench! (And that's an affectionate term, you know, in Shakespearean language anyway - Prospero calls Miranda it the entire time, and she's his daughter! Also, it's part of bustywench's name, so etc etc.)

As for the fitness - well, I had two days where I went jogging and swimming (documented somewhere in the nether-regions of this thread), but that motivation quickly subsided, and have since been eating bacon sandwiches instead. Oh dear.

However - Girls Aloud have recorded a song called Grafitti My Soul. Is this not a brilliant name for a song?

Oooooh Shakespeare, eh? I say I say, highbrow stuff. My wenchly role models usually hail from the pages of the latest bodice-ripping historical romance. =) I'm trying to write one at the moment- I thought that as I've read about a thousand of them over the years, it was time to give it a go myself. But egads, it's difficult making time for writing.

And bacon sandwiches are god's own foodstuff. Ultra crispy rashers on extra soft, thickly buttered white bread. Ohhh I could do one of them right now. *drool*

Went for a lovely 4/5 mile run earlier this morning with Bazeel. It was lovely, the sky was all soft pinks, greys and blues. They moon was clear and the ground was on fire with the autumn coloured leaves. One part was like running thru the 'Autumn' screen saver on XP.
