View Full Version : News on G4
borneobabe 17-12-2004, 08:44 PM Louis Walsh was a guest on Gerry Kelly's chat show in Northern Ireland tonight. The main reason for the appearance was to promote G4, who he has taken on to manage. He confirmed their first CD would be out for Mother's Day next year. He also said there was a lot of politics behind the scenes that no one knew about. For instance, cute blond one from G4 had apparently auditioned for Il Divo.. and did not make the cut... courtesy of Simon Cowell. Louis is promoting them big time, if for no other reason to outsell Steve and get one up on Simon Cowell. He also confirmed he would be back on the new season of X Factor as would Sharon Osborne.
Dolores 17-12-2004, 08:47 PM Louis is a big loser!
Good info though BB!

I think this kind of thinking is totally in place with the Xfactor programme but it just goes to show everything that is wrong with the music business today. Not enough bands are formed naturally and there is far too much emphasis on music "moguls" like Walsh and Cowell.
Thank god every 10 years of so a group of real note such as Oasis come on the scene, shake things up and take it by storm!
I don't think G4 compare well with Il Divo, at all. It's boys versus men, really, isn't it? It doesn't surprise me to hear that Jonathon failed to make the grade for a genuine class act, and it also explains the chip on his shoulder regarding Simon Cowell's judgement in the latter stages of X Factor, once his confidence had been pumped up a bit.
I sincerely hope Louis and Sharon are replaced for the next series, because I'd like to watch it.

I totally agree. Cowell, Walsh etc, etc, are the worst thing to happen for music in years. They have no interest in music whatsoever, it is all about the money.
I can't believe people voted for/against singers/groups because of their manager! It SHOULD have been about their talent.
That's why I wouldn't buy any of the contestants music, because it is generally, bland and manufactured, with no soul or heart to it. Sad.

I can't speak for anyone else, but i did not vote for G4 because i wanted Louis to beat Cowell, it is about the music, and talent. I could'nt really care less about the judges but like i said i do like Louis, but find Simon too far up his own ****!
Critique 18-12-2004, 08:53 PM I saw Il Divo (for the first time ever) on two different shows tonight, once singing "My Way" and once singing "Oh Holy Night". I expected to have my socks knocked off but in fact I found them very bland. I didn't think there was much clever in each of them singing a bit of the song, in turn. They all sound very similar. I prefer G4 who, I think, in a recording studio with a chance to re-do the bits they get wrong, will be quite good
MariaRob 20-12-2004, 11:54 AM I sincerely hope they get new judges in for the next X factor, we have all had our fill of Sharon Osborne's showing off and playing to the camera. I heard that Victoria Beckham was in the frame for becoming a judge . Whatever, just so long as Sharon moves over for someone else or it is just going to be a repeat of the first one with S and Louis "ganging up" on Simon - yawn!!
bridge 20-12-2004, 12:32 PM I hope Sharon is coming back for another series of X-Factor, she is great on the show, i wish they would get another judge instead of Cowell though, but it being HIS show that would be hard! Hmmmmm.

WE have ALL had our fill of Sharon Osborne ?? Speak for yourself Love, i haven't !!!!! i think she is great and hope to see her back on the X-Factor next year. GO SHARON.

I agree with you. I saw II Divo on Children in Need and they were boring. OK - they are good looking guys, but one of them in particular you could barely hear. He didnt have any power in his voice.
In my mind G4 are miles better, and i would definately buy their album. I wouldnt buy Steves. I saw him on CDUK on Saturday and thought he was pants.
i wish they would get another judge instead of Cowell though, but it being HIS show that would be hard! Hmmmmm.
I disagree - the show would be nothing with out Simon Cowell, and so much better without Sharon and Louis.........
Blue Alex 21-12-2004, 04:02 PM What we really need is the best (looking) out of G4 and Il Divo merged into the ultimate supergroup
Il Ultimo 4
From G4
Jonathan (goes without saying)
The dark haired guy after a Swan makeover, lose a bit of weight, gym work, wonky tooth fixed)
The gorgeous long haired one from Il Divo
and the other (almost as cute) one from Il Divo (not the old greasy looking dad or the squashed nose one)
And there were have it, ladies and gentlemen, I give you
Il Ultimo Quattro!
jodie rules 11-01-2005, 10:54 AM I am so glad G4 am realising sum material on mother's day. Is it bohemian Rhapsody?
Critique 24-02-2005, 10:04 AM Saw the advert on TV and it's an Album they are releasing with all the songs they did in the show. I bet they will sound brilliant having been done in a studio with lots of cuts and enhancement. I liked them as they were but you know what recording studios can do, cut out the odd bum note, etc.
I have to start dropping hints :)
Jonathan4evamine 02-05-2005, 01:11 PM  I Love G4 - I Have Listened To Thier Album Everyday Since 28th February.......
Critique 02-05-2005, 08:25 PM Hi Beckz, have to agree that Jonathan is a bit of all right but then I'm old enough to be his grandma  He;s so sweet that I just like looking at him.

Northern angel 27-09-2005, 11:30 AM My deepest Sympathies on the loss of your Cat.Lyndsay.
I too adore animals and am particularly fond of cats.
My neighbours old cat strangely adopted my flat last August about a 3 weeks before my smokie suffered a serious trauma and I sadly had to have him put to sleep.I still have two cats and thankfully they get on very well.
